Well, only you can decide that, and since you’re just getting started, you really DO want to make some BAD juice, you really do. You want to, so you can document it, and learn what DIDN’T work, so you can move onto what DOES work. Failure is ALWAYS part of the game in the beginning, and lessens as you move on, but you still fail, even after you’ve been doing this for years, it’s just part of the game.
Please tell me what equipment you have, and/or is holding you back not having, so I can better understand.
Well, THAT ^^^^ is actually a BIG DEAL @Caped_Conspirathist. If the scale IS making it easier, THEN, you can take your engineer’s brain, and focus it on the OTHER parts of mixing. Choosing flavors, testing them if you can stomach that, to see what you DO like, what you HATE, take notes, and make better, improved mixing decisions. I’m very glad the scale is helping to make it at least easier. Great news.
The Boston bottles you recommended. I’m assuming they come with better tips for drops than the manufacturers bottles? I’ve bought a lot and those are really the last on the list of things to get.

Well they work really good for me, so IMO, the tips are fine. Now, explain a bit more here, what problems are you having with the tips on the manufacturers bottles of flavors currently ?
MF??? Flavor west makes some nice stuff. I want to avoid using the super sweet at all costs. Made my chest heave. Some of the TFA isn’t bad. Capella has mostly good stuff. Who’s FA?
See, I have a boatload of flavors out there to try. I have 3-4 different makes of watermelon now. The cost of the flavors is reasonable but the shipping kills.

Ahhhh, so WAIT just a minute. Now THAT is something you haven’t stated yet. Some flavors ARE trash, period. NOW, with that said, different bottles, or tips isn’t going to change that LOL, right ? I’m trying to EXTRACT exactly what you are having problems with here Doug.
Now as far as BRANDS goes, NONE have ALL great flavors, NONE. Every MFG has winners, and loosers, so please don’t go ALL IN, or ALL OUT just because you’ve had a bad flavor or two from a particular MFG. THAT sad point, is partially why I have soo many damned flavors. You have to pick and choose one from THIS MFG, and one from THAT MFG, etc, etc., according to your tastes. As far as flavors from LNW, I can’t really speak to many of them.
YES, you JUST hit on a BIG topic we were JUST talking about in another thread. NOW, there’s a SMART way to handle that issue, and a NOT so smart way.
If you place lots of small, panic orders (as I call them), you will take a drink on the shipping costs. If you make a LIST however, and add flavors to your list, then you can save up, wait a bit, then place an order for a group, and most times pay NO shipping. This of course requires restraint, hehe, which I don’t always have, hehe.
@SessionDrummer, I have bought a lot of flavors. Some I think are garbage and don’t touch them anymore. I’m a little worried about this golden pineapple" from CAP or TFA. It smells rather chemically. If it smells it, it’s going to taste it. I have, like 4 different peaches. 3 different cherries, 4 blueberries? I have flavors I haven’t even tried yet. The raspberry V2 from CAP is really good. I want to make that on it’s own.

Absolutely NOT always the case. I have finger tested, and vape tested mass amounts of flavors, and I am constantly surprised by how many can taste one way on your finger, smelling out of the bottle, vs. IN the tank. If you hate CAP’s Golden Pineapple vaping it, well, then your assessment would be sound. I use it a lot, and don’t get any chemical-ness from it. BUT, please remember, even a GREAT flavor can be PUSHED too high, and when it is, it will TURN on you, and in a BAD way.
BUT, as you stated above, some flavors just plain suck. Won’t matter how low you vape them at, they will still suck LOL. And THAT @Caped_Conspirathist is what makes this hard, and why it is so BADASS, once you start to figure it out, and start making great juice. Overcoming the fear of failure, sucky juices, and sticking with it, taking your notes, and even trying others recipes to see what YOU like, and start getting it figured out. THAT is what really rules the day here.
@SessionDrummer, right now, I’m learning the flavors I like. As I find out which ones are tasty and don’t taste like crap, I can order more. the Flavor West Blueberry is the best blueberry I’ve ever had. The honeydew and cucumber are pretty good too.
I might be picky about the flavors but the ones I’m gonna sniff, taste, then trash I don’t want. My next batch will be a pina colada but this golden pineapple… I’m a tad nervous about. I may even toss a pinch of peach in it too.
I really like the fruit flavors. I don’t like cakes, candies… Just the fruits.
Well there you go @Caped_Conspirathist, as you and I already have something in common. FW makes some GREAT flavors, and their Blueberry is one of them. They also have some uber turds as well !!!

@SessionDrummer which ones are turds in your opinion? Ok, I’ll use the pineapple I have. I didnt know FW made horrible tasting fruit flavors??? I’ve only bought 3 flavors from them now. A peach and cherry too.

@anon84779643 has me covered under flavorah. That stuff rocks but is really touchy so I take my time. The rest of the flavors and “steeping” time for a month is a bit long for 30 ml of juice. I need to find out what’s happening as it steeps. What the chemical reaction is.
A chemical engineer at Merck pharmaceuticals recommended I ionize the flavors and nic. They will pull together faster if I do. (actually it was 3 comparing ideas that came up with that). Then there is a catalyst that might help (usually it’s titanium or niobium during anodizing that works… but there’s other ways.
Hehe, that could take quite some time, AND, who’s to say what I call a turd, you don’t ?? Say I told you the Blueberry was a turd, you listened to me, and never tried it, I would have done you a disservice, and you might have NEVER known how good that Blueberry was, just because I thought it wasn’t.
