ELR is a testing ground? A rant of sorts

…hey? …HEY!? I’m tryna mix juice tonight damnit. I was captured by this thread …I want my half hour back. Love you guys tho. There are plenty of threads re: flavor naming issues …old news.

We used to search for simple misspells like “Starwberry” etc. The issue is Data Integrity and it’s value to core functionality. While it may be only an ideal, it should be a goal. Those old misspells were seen as accidents/typos/illiteracy …like a Baby Ruth in the swimming pool. Admins just took the dip net and restored order, no harm no foul [cough]. Polluting the database beligerantly or carelessly, after being informed, with an FU? …hey? …wait? …That’s not a Baby Ruth (/insert non-US chocolate-covered-peanut-candy-bar-that-floats-like-a-turd name here).

How it’s handled (one star reviews etc) …meh? Getting neck deep in the turd pool is too granular for me …and now I’m out 45 mins …thanks alot :squint:

I was also captured by the thread and from experience largely agree with @Monotom. This made me think of what is known as Graham’s hierarchy of disagreement posted below. Good rules IMO.

Always admired your insightful comments.

I would also include ‘deliberate’. And that’s pretty much what my experience has been.

Keep in mind that one star ratings had absolutely nothing to do with the recipe itself. The rating system overall is self-serving IMO. I used it more as an attention getting mechanism when the usual informational comments fell on deaf ears (eyes?) and/or were repeatedly ignored. It must work, as evidenced by the whiny responses.
