You don’t care for Hershey’s chocolate @Bad_Influence ?
I do not! I am aware that people love it, in the US for sure and even here in England I’ve seen happy faces when someone discovered it in their local supermarket. Not sure what kind of chocolate you can get in America in 2021 but 20 years ago there wasn’t much foreign chocolate around. We found some Milka bars in a German shop in a mall in Allentown if i remember correctly.
We can talk a lot about the things that might be better in the US or in Europe but I’m confident enough to say when it comes to chocolate, America is no match for Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium to just mention a few.
There, i said it! Now before you answer, breathe a few times and think of Baseball or something. You’ll always have that one over Europe
But I’m certainly visiting Hershey World if I get the chance to visit PA again!
I have a German friend who gets care-packages from home and he always shares his German chocolate with me. I have to agree that it is just a world of difference from what is readily available in the states. Soooo good!
I have nothing to compare Hershey Chocolate to. I live 10 miles from Hershey, my Sister In-law works for Hershey Entertainment. I generally don’t eat chocolate. But I hadn’t ever met or heard of anyone who wasn’t a fan of Hershey Chocolate.
We go to Hersheypark & Chocolate World often. My Sister-in-law comps us Tickets. And I still enjoy the rides & have a 6 year old Granddaughter that loves going.
LOL I really don’t want to talk too much shit about an american icon but if Hershey is the only stuff you get your love for chocolate may never be ignited! Just imagine if there were as many alcoholics if the only stuff you can get is some moonshine which may or may not make you blind!
Or with the guns… for us having a bb gun in the house is only possible with some kind of license so nobody ever got the taste of how liberating an afternoon on the shooting range can be with all the Glocks and Colts and whatnot.
Oooopppps, you can add me to that list of people who don’t like Hershey chocolate. There are sooo many better chocolates out there for my tastes.
I just realised that Hershey chocolate world is really close to 3 mile island! That must be it!
Damn I wish I had google earth when I was in PA. I was just up the road near Allentown and had no idea.
Yes, The 3 mile Island cooling stacks are visible from my home. I fish the Susquehanna just above 3 mile island.
They are phasing out this Nuclear facility. As they have reached their usable time. Rumor is we will have Hydro electric, That’s conjuncture though.
It’s quite a famous place, not just since the X-men movie or the accident. I remember a film from the 70s, not sure if it was filmed there or if the story was about the place. “The China syndrome” was about some reporter visiting and witnessing that there was almost an accident. The coolest thing was the X-men scenes with the cooling towers though
I remembered the incident, but couldn’t remember the details …
some experts believe that’s because some companies such as Hershey’s puts its milk through a process called controlled lipolysis. This breaks down the fatty acids in the milk and produces butyric acid - the chemical that gives vomit its very distinctive smell and acrid taste.
aww man…you ruined it!
One of our teachers dropped a glass bottle with the stuff in school once. Chemistry lessons were delightful the next few weeks.
Nah. You can find 'em where you find Canadians I’ve stopped and had it in Erie, PA. They’re in Florida, and even had a location in Afghanistan for the Canadian troops.
I couldn’t believe it so I found this map. Europe is still very grey but something seems to be going on in the UK. Have to investigate this right now! But iit’s probably one in London and one in Edinburgh or something…
Edit: Damn, the closest one is about 2 hours by car… so tempting…
Wowza, great map! They haven’t been Canadian for a looong time. IIRC their parent company is now Wendy’s. The drive thru at the one in Erie PA was full of Canadian license plates
None here at all anywhere in the country, and I don’t even know what a “Tim Hortons” is… lol
Well, as long as you don’t have one nearby I recommend you don’t try it when you’re in Canada. I did and now can’t get to one. The first 3 months were hell, but after about 10 years I was almost back to normal!
Nice, looks like there’s a few near me. I’m in Van Wyck, SC.
Nice, maybe ask for their pictures so you can carry them around on your phone for reference, then you can say, “oh hey FireTruck420, We’re on ELR together!”
