That would be great as I’ve only used lubrisolve, apart from the starter kit I first bought and I can’t remember what that was like.
Just when things on the Pedantic front had gone quiet it was almost as if someone had returned…
Pedanticism - Vol II …
If you get me
Oh i get you, i get you good
I was just on their website and saw this. I think I purchased their Signature hit and wanted to ask your opinion on their nic. Some say it’s peppery and some say it depends on which product you get. I find it has a stronger taste than my other liquids. Do you think it’s the Signature?
Ah, no they don’t. I was just on their website to order another litre of 100mg/ml for about 120 euro, and to think US folks complain about prices of $40 a litre
They have the TPD compliant nicotine already up for sale. 100x 10ML of 18mg/ml for 149.50 euro. That’s more than 5x the current price folks
They will just dilute the stock of 100mg/ml to 18mg/ml.
I have 500ml of pg (have never used pg nicotine yet) and 2.5 litres of vg in the freezer all from Darkstar.
Normally vape around 100-150ml a week @ 3 mg, that works out at 6.25ml a week for 150ml, 325ml a year.
I plan on lowering my nicotine in the future but as it stands according to these figures (if I have done my math right) I should have enough for little over 9 years.
@muth I’ve never tried their Signature mixes, just their regular, and have gone through a few liters thus far. Have tried many others, whom all either seemed to taste peppery, oxidized very quickly, or just added a new flavor to my mixes. Being frustrated, asked around, and NN kept coming up. Tried it, and never went back, and I don’t consider price. I figured cheap is great, unless it doesn’t work. I’d be curious to hear about their Sig mixes.
@muth Sorry missed your main point, if you are getting any taste (assuming you are storing in the freezer, and shaking it up good) then I would assume it’s the “Hit”.
That’s a good amount to have stored away. I worked out for myself and the misses I needed around 2.5 litres to last 10 years but as my friends have started wanting a couple of hundred ml between them each week I decided I should really stock up. Think I have 6 and a half litres in the freezer and I’m still considering buying a little more
My only problem is not having the space in the freezer.
Darkstar prices right now are great as well, 2 litres of 72mg per ml in Pg or VG for £59.99, I’m waiting to see if it will drop any further the week before tpd. I don’t think it will as price is already low but if it does I’ll probably jump on a final 2 litres.
I’m really hoping all the assumptions of shelf life of nicotine in the freezer turn out correct otherwise could end up having to throw a lot away. Think it’s a worthwhile gamble though.
The shelf life does concern me as well, I have seen some people say 2 years, others say 5 years and that it degrades 1mg a year even if stored in the freezer.
We’ll be back here in 5 years, masters of the flavours, discussing how our nicotine has held up
1mg a year when frozen would be a very acceptable degradation rate though. If that’s the case then a decade in the freezer won’t be too much of a problem.
I think if you can remove the air component in the bottle (I think this is achieved by adding argon gas) then it’s even less likely to degrade as there’s no oxygen present.
I use a 100ml bottle for general use and refill from one of the freezer bottles but each time I’m allowing more and more oxygen in so it would be great to be able to push the air out with argon gas at home but I have no idea how to do this. Think I’ll have to do a little googling.
Oxygen could be removed with something like this
That’s the first item I found that fitted with what I had in my mind, there’s probably a more suitable cap out there.
That’s a good find. I guess we could store our nicotine in wine bottles using that vacuum top in the freezer. Although you’d have to be careful handling a frozen glass bottle with a vacuum as I’d imagine a little knock could cause it to break.
There could be a market in someone creating a top specifically for glass nicotine bottles.
Just bought at Vestfrost VT147 140 Litre Low Temperature Chest Freezer on ebay for £200
I am running it at -47C
10 Freezer Packs from Darkstar each 4x500ml @ 72mg are on the way.
Each pack cost £62.99.
With existing Pirate Vape and HiLiq stock I will have 30 Litres.
As both myself and my wife vape 18mg mouth to lung on Triton II tanks It would be impossible to DIY
There are 2 full layers of 1/2 Litre Dark Star 72mg under the steel rack
That is a huge amount of nicotine and lovely low temp to store at. If a quick Google search is correct propylene glycol freezes at -48c so -47 is as cold as you want to go. I’m assuming it’s Pg nic due to the mtl devices you use.
I think you’re way out in front at the moment in terms of nicotine supplies. Always good to be prepared
I also have 22 Triton II Tanks 1000+ 1.8 coils and 3 Genuine Kayfun 5s plus plenty of spares.
We can both vape as we like for a few years with no restrictions and no outlay apart from flavour concentrate.
The freezer is now at -36c to stop it short cycling.
