I’ll take a shot here. Wokeness is a religion. It has beliefs, tenets, prophets, high priests, sacred texts,

blasphemies, and an inflexible view of the truth.

Its adherents have eschewed traditional religion because they believe it’s outdated, out of touch and provincial. They openly disparage and despise those who don’t belong to their religion. Many believe that those heathens should be silenced lest their words influence those they identify as too weak to resist the temptation of another belief system.

As it was in the past it is today that violence is a legitimate and even desirable tool to combat the heathens. No less than countless others throughout history who committed crimes and evil, horrific acts, they justify their behavior in the service of their beliefs.

They unwaveringly act as if they are on the right side of history and this is typical of those who don’t know history. They are unquestioning, thoughtless and seem to lack empathy not just for the others but will just as quickly devour their own if they are perceived to be apostates.

If I had to sum up their overarching philosophy it would be they believe that feelings are the most important aspect of life. Truth matters not, it’s convenient at times and inconvenient at other times. Truth is malleable to them.

What makes them so dangerous to society is their methods. It’s not enough for them to loudly, obnoxiously and persistently tell others their beliefs but that they insist that non-believers say out loud the same things. Just as Christians would openly and willingly profess to have adopted Islam during the Al Andalus, just as Germans were forced to say Heil Hitler and just as Chinese would openly praise Mao, the Woke would have all of us do the same. It’s enough to have the masses do this to get them to sheepishly follow the vanguard down the path of insanity and evil.

TLDR, they’re stupid, evil fucks.

Thx, I enjoyed his speech. So how did woke go from its original meaning (in short, socially and culturally aware) to what it is today? I read that it actually dates back to 1962 coming from Harlem.

No one can’t stomach a bleeding heart liberal more than me but hasn’t this just turned into a buzzword to mock them? I care less if people want to mock bleeding hearts but I do care if the original meaning gets changed to do so. I agree with Konstantin, I just wish a different word was coined instead of awake/woke. That’s it, I guess that’s what was bothering me.

All words evolved it’s meaning because we use them. Remember when gay used to mean joy/ joyful?

I only became familiar with the term about a year ago. To be honest I’m still not too sure what it all means. On the surface it just sounds like a bunch of Karens and their male counterparts to me. With a healthy dose of aggression if their beliefs are questioned.
The Urban Dictionary www.urbandictionary.com has some interesting definitions. My brother, a VP at a major food brand says “They’re whiney punks who grew up in secular households and are almost exclusively militant Leftists”. LOL

I’m an old fart. A boomer not up to speed. I went to Urban Dictionary to look up woke & Karen. I doubt I’ll ever use either in conversation. What I found on the front page was:

Blinkerton:
When you are hitting your vape for a long amount of time causing the safety draw light on it to blink. Similar to the world blinker

Brad: Yo bro, this week has been stressing me out, give me the chooch
Chad: Aight bro here
after 5 straight seconds of hitting the chooch
Brad: Bro I’m in blinkerton rn (that’s where the definition stopped).

SO… all you subohm, DTL, cloud chuckers are now officially ‘Blinkertons’!

ya lost me bud, but that’s OK. As an aging dog, I’ve voluntarily decided that I don’t want to learn any new tricks.
Just let me lie in the sun and take naps. BTW, any youngsters: get off my lawn and get a haircut!

I think I’ll still use it like that again. “Everyone here is in a good mood tonight, there’s such gaiety in the air. Are you feeling gay tonight, Delltrap?”

My name is Karen

Pure coincidence. From my interactions with you, you are far from a Karen, …Karen.

@TorturedZen I followed your link to the urban dictionary for woke and it’s really too much. I can see where it started out making sense and then progressed to idiocy. I’m too old and so far past using stupid coined words like that. I have more respect for people who express themselves using their own original thoughts and not the latest mot du jour (word of the day).

Thanks, TorturedZen. Actually, the people closest to me have called me by nickname for so long, the name Karen seems foreign to me.

Too often, the opportunity knocks, but by the time you push back the chain, push back the bolt, unhook the two locks and shut off the burglar alarm, it’s too late.

Just once I’d like to hear someone say about their family member, friend, colleague, etc, “Yep, he was a murderous bastard. My only surprise is he didn’t kill more people. Heck, he’s probably got a dozen bodies under his house.”

Just once.
