For while now I’ve thought about making the perfect Fig Newton vape. The hardest part has always been the fig. I make fig newtons at home but but as a vape liquid I don’t know if it could work. Here’s my thoughts based on my home made Fig Newtons.
Usually when I make fig newtons at home I typically use dehydrated figs and simply rehydrate them using apple juice. The pectin from apple makes the figs really jammy when they are pulsed down into a paste.
And for the cake/cookie part is typically a moist brown sugary cookie dough similar to a soft sugar cookie/pie dough consistency.
So for me it seems the use of FA Apple Pie feels like it could work at least in terms of the cookie dough for the Newton as well as the very little bit of apple that it has could help jam up the fig. Now because the cookie is basically a soft cake like cookie I thought to use a soft blond cookie like JF cookie or Cap sugar cookie with the pie crust.
For the fig I’ve never used FAs enhancer jam wizard so I don’t know if that would help create the jammy feel of the fig. The fig is the really the hard part, I need to find a good sweet fig that doesn’t seem too earthy.
Any suggestions?
I would complicate too much, so i’ll rather just say
it is today btw
Some FA Liquid Amber to add some honey and baked notes, and like you said, unsure if the Jammie Wizard would do it or not. Could easily use some FL SB Jam, or OOO SB Jam, just to bring out the jam jam.
Also @McDuckie you could use FL Apple Jam, which would add the apple and the jam in one shot. TPA Graham Cracker Clear would work well, as it doesn’t really taste like GC much, but could easily be part of the wrapper.
Even though there are a ton of recipes which include the FA Fig… it may not be for you. However, I used it with great success in a few of my mixes. To me, it was a very genuine fig flavor; right off the tree/bush kinda flavor. I never tried any other vendors fig flavors, 'cause FA hit the mark for me right away.
Good luck with your search!
Good luck with that. I’ve been looking for a dark, dried fig flavor.
Agreed @fidalgo_vapes, BUT, I have a solution. EVERYONE should buy the BIGGEST BOTTLE of Medicine Flower Fig they can afford !!!
3ml… Ha!
Question… WHAT does a Fig taste like?!
3.7 for 4$ apprx
Another question… Does anyone know what the common size is for a glass bottle dripper?! I ha e those Apex bottles- and would like to get some dripper tops. Thanks
The MF Fig is BETTER than the fresh figs in our yard !!!
Don’t think of a fig newton, but a fresh picked fig, with pink and red-ish flesh. I can’t think of another fruit that it really tastes like.
How about a dirty raisin?
@D.Sims not sure on the thread pitch or bottle depth. Glass is very inert and super stable, as is the glass tubes on the dripper caps, BUT, the rubber bulbs can leak, deteriorate, etc. I still push from glass to PET.
Maybe-ish, but only after they’re dried, fresh picked from the tree is something else.
Wow, I never knew it wasn’t a fruit, but a flower ??
Fig (MF) 1% (8-21-18) – Fig baby FIG !!! There was NO other way to start this flavor review, than that. I have the luxury of having a fig tree in the yard, so I’m very used to the taste of fresh figs. Have never vaped it before now, but I think this one is going to change that. Realizing these are natural flavors, the fact that this IS a spot on Fig flavor should be no surprise, but the fact that it is so good, actually is. It perfectly captures and conveys the fig body, and almost the seeds too. Tastes like a perfectly ripe fig fresh off the tree. I almost ran out to the fig tree to compare, but I couldn’t put the tank down. For comparison it was seemingly quite a bit more present than the Morello Cherry, but fell slightly behind the Honeydew Melon in strength. The sweetness, body, flavor, and overall blending was perfect, and the dark, almost malty-ish notes were perfectly presented in this gem. This one was priced higher on MF’s site @ $41.00 / 15ml as opposed to the more common @ $22.00 / 15ml, but after tasting this, it is worth every bit of that. I may have to buy the BIG bottle of this one. If you are looking for Fig, this is where you find it, and in spades. No faults whatsoever with this one, in any way. Strength, sweetness, profile, with nothing artificial, you cannot go wrong with this one. Think you don’t like Fig, you better try this one first. No choice but 10/10 on this one.
Are they the 2oz or 4oz bottles? I believe the 2oz is 20-400 and 4oz is 24-400 for Boston round style bottles.
The amazing thing is they are as of yet unopened.
Hehe, old pic !!!
