Finding vintage/discontinued products

I’ve read posts like yours before but didn’t understand until a few days ago . I think I tried some verticals (Years ago), and wasn’t too impressed. It was before I really learned how to build as well. Glad I gave it another chance :+1:.

@Lostmarbles I saw above that you have the OG Griffin? Have you tried building it vertically? I first saw it done by DJLsb Vapes.

Welcome to ELR @MRmurk do you have any other Vandy Vape RTAs? I’m interested in the OG Berserker with the 7.5ml Fatboy glass.

couldn’t find the video. Did a search and found the reddit post but the video has been deleted. Nothing found on youtube either.

Well, it’s a Velocity style deck so verticals are easy. It’s the packing of the wick that was different the way he did it. Iirc, the entire deck looked packed with cotton and he cut small corner pieces to prevent juice from entering the AF beneath the coils. Actually, they would be called chimney coils because the air is directed through the middle of the coils. I bet you could do it without seeing a video, you’re very skillful that way. Just use your common sense

Built it last night. The wicking was a bit of a pain in the butt, but I got it. Not sure the flavor improved much. I used a set of fused claptons (0.06 ohms total). I’ll have to try it again with higher gauge claptons or single wire builds. On the plus side, zero leaks!

Oh wow, good job. Yes, I would try a different build. Back then there weren’t many 0.06 builds in those kind of RTAs, if that makes a difference.

ETA: I saw a pic of a build this guy did where he put 3 small coiling rods together, creating an oblong coil to match the shape of the bottom AF, for his vertical build.

Oh man, I never thought of that. Genius!

That’s exactly what I thought when I saw the pic. Are you going to try it?

I’ll have to see if I have any rods that would work, but yeah, I’d like to give it a shot…just because.

That’s the spirit :+1:
After looking at a few reviews, I wish I also had the Griffin 25 and 25+. Do you?

I’m going to check and see what I find. I’m pretty sure I have the 25 mini and the Eagle. I also have the Gemini and the Gemini Mega, both of which I like better than the Griffin.
