I really think your gonna love this one!!! alot
Totally agree
Exelent rta, just need to get a black one now.
I just need to get one lol
I got my Griffin today. Very easy to build and wick. I mounted 5/4 wrap, 22g Ti, 3mm ID @ .07. It was lacking flavor @ 65w/510F. I cranked it up 85w/580F and I found some pretty good flavor there. Itās a little hotter than I likeā¦ but ok. Iāll have to work with it more, but IMO the Aromamizer is more to my liking. I have a all Ti Clapton Iām going to mount next and see how that goes.
EDIT
I spoke too soon. After the coil break in, the flavor has gotten much better. Iām really starting to enjoy this tank. It needs a little more power and heat then normal, but it delivers when itās dialed in.
I love it but feel I get more flavor from my criusāsā¦just my opinionā¦
I feel yaā¦ it has itās place. I wasnāt sure at first , but itās growing on me. Itās got a different vape. Lately Iāve been vapinā my Aromamizers and these two donāt vape the same. I think the Aromamizers has better flavor, but this big deck offer more options and the flavor aināt bad. Iām going to explore some different builds and see how it pans out.
So is this the best build you got on it so far? Mine just came in the mail. So I will be Geek Vaping tonight when I get home. I brought everything to work with me that I needed to get it built and wicked with Ti, but went off and forgot my damn TC mod.
Got 3.5mm ID ti 22g 7 wrap .08 ohm running at 480f 80w. Really getting used to this tank, puts a nice vape out.
In the top 5 definitely and a breeze to work on.
Till the next one lol
I will try that. I have never wrapped that large of an ID. But this thing looks big enough to easily get that in there.
Damn, this thing has a huge deck. I donāt see how this canāt be one killer vape. That is 3.5mm ID, 7.5 wraps, and 22awg. I am building the second side now. Itās a shame I will have to wait until I get home to vape on it.
Thatās looking good to me.
Iāve kept the ring on mine just to try it as designed but most have removed the ring. Easily wicked.
Does it keep up with wicking that large of a coil? The juice holes look efficient. But how do you put your cotton in? Is it snug or loose? Thanks!
Snug enough to make contact with the id of the coil and tapered at the ends.
Itās a slow wicking tank to begin with , im vapeing a 30/70 mix and it is quite slow. Mabey a higher pg if you want faster wicking but Iām loving mine as is. I donāt chain vape and switch between devices aswell.
Just got one yesterday. This thing is a MONSTER! Easily the best tank I own. Even knocks the Aromamizer off its throne, at least for me. Like the airflow (control) better and itās wicking like a dream. About that wicking ring - as Iām using a 2.4mm ID coil, the tank pissed itself when I didnāt use the wicking ring and put the wick ends on top of them liquid channels. So second try, I stuff the wicks into the channels almost touching the very bottom, then apply the wicking ring and boom - wicking like a beast. Speaking about its design, I think the ring is there to prevent the wick from getting displaced while turning the tank / liquid control. Pretty neat, me thinks. Thanks for recommending this tank! Itās killer.
Just got mine wicked up. Wicked using @SthrnMixerās trimmed bowtie technique and itās hittinā like a dream! Yes. An absolute beast this thing is!
My thoughts after a night of use - I never thought my TFV4 would be dethroned. But this morning I am facing a very big dilema. Take my tried and true Sigelei 150w mod with my TFV4, or take my unscaved, pristine condition iPV3 Li with the Griffin to work with me and risk getting a scratch on my favorite mod. I could take my iPV D3 instead. But it is a stay at home mod as well. For me to even consider taking these devices out the front door is saying a lot to how much I like this tank. I guess I will take the iPV D3. I donāt want to. But I have to. Itās either that or stay home from work and enjoy this vape.
Not totally geeked on the Griffin. I like the ease of building on that deck, itās bigger than the Aromamizer but smaller than the original Velocity rda deck. Some made it out to be the second coming of the VCMT, but itās not that big. Flavor is a little disappointing, good but not great, perhaps a function of the large deck/barrel/chimney. Quality is good, but not great. Zero leaking issues so far, which I canāt claim for any of my other RTAās, but Iām just not a fan of that Crius like jfc. It works, but sometimes Iām unsure if the tank is being loosened or the juice holes turned. Probably a personal problem as Iām having trouble grasping the whole concept of how/why it works. I had some connectivity issues with a couple of mods, and had to adjust the 510 out a bit. Itās a good thing that it has top fill 'cause Iām refilling it alot - the tank is just too small. Overall itās good, but not so good that it will bump the Aromamizer or Cthulhu V2 out of the rotation. But Iām sure the Crius will be collecting dust now.
On a side note, I was geeked about using fused claptons with a tank. I havenāt used kanthal for quite a while and forgot how that wire tastes. And with a fused clapton, Iām getting like 3 times the funky taste. And they are slow to heat, and slow to cool. I set preheat in Escribe to max and that does the trick for ramp up, but after a draw I can hear those coils sizzling for a couple seconds. Iām going to try some stainless steel for coaxial wire, and if that works well, will make some fused. Or maybe SS/Tiā¦that sounds interesting.
I got some 22g nichrome 8 wrap 3. 0 mm in one Griffin and fused 26/35 in the other. Room to spare
And I got rid of the wicking ringā¦ Wow this thing can suck some juice. But on lower watts you get some flooding which is easily fixed adjusting the juice control. Love it
They are coming out with a 25mm griffin, the deck is suppose to be a little bigger, and hold a little more juice.
