First thoughts on the Geekvape Griffin

No kidding! Easy peasy! The Griffin is, by far, my go to tank these days! :+1:

I just noticedā€¦ YOU GOT CHICKORY. Oh my god I love that coffee. A salesman from Alabama brought us a can into the shop. I couldnā€™t remember the name of it but that is the can. That stuff is the most amazing coffee I have ever tried. I am ordering a drum of it right now!

I canā€™t tell you how much of that grind Iā€™ve swilled! Cafe Du Monde and Half & Half in equal parts = the start of an awesome day! :+1: Bring on the beignets and powdered sugar!

I worked 2nd shift. They had a a large coffee brewer (the big 2 gallon shiney silver percolator type). It was almost full of that coffee at the start of my shift. Between 3 of us we polished it off in 10 hours.

Happy to see a few more folks got their Griffins in the Vape Mail 2016 thread!

I had a very sad thing happen today. :poop: For the first time, since I purchased my very first tank, a few years ago, I dropped my Griffin today and broke the glass. :pensive: Very, very sad! Luckily, the kit does come with a spare glass, so happy news there!

Has anyone seen a company selling spare or colored glass for the Griffin as of yet?

I have not. But Iā€™m sure itā€™s a comin. And I will be the first on my street to get a smoked one. That would look killa with the black Griffin on the black Efusion. Then I might just see if I can get a job as a Navy Seal as their official black ops vaper!

That SO should be a legit rank/job. And sounds like a great name for a juice line! Black Ops Vapor. :stuck_out_tongue:

Ainā€™t it the truth!

Ok, so to be more on point with the thread here.

I was SO anxious to get my Griffin. I had visions of luxurious clouds and flavor to rival any other tank out there.

Iā€™m not disappointed. It took me a couple tries to get the wicking down. That ring - well I wonā€™t say itā€™s useless - I just donā€™t seem to have a need for it and my style is if itā€™s not needed then itā€™s just something else to cock things up.

Iā€™ve done 2 builds with it. First was dual 24ga 316L on 3mm, 8.5 wraps. It was nice, but again I still canā€™t see what all the fuss is about with stainless. To me itā€™s not all that, but then again I only have 26 and 24 gauge. Whatever. I put the 22ga Ti duals on next, 7.5 wraps on 2.5mm. Oh yeah, both builds spaced. Now weā€™re getting somewhere. I tried both with and without the ring on both builds. I prefer no ring on both, but Ti by leaps and bounds over SS. It just is better.

This thing, well lets just say Iā€™m in love. I see it keeping itā€™s position atop my Efusion for a good long while. I killed my eVic VT 60, so that leaves me with another Efusion, Reuleaux DNA, and the eVic VTC mini. What to do? I love the Ohmega now and the eVic isnā€™t strong enough to push the dual 22ga Ti builds, so I guess that puts an Aromamizer on the shelf beside the TFV4. Yes, that tank is sitting. Now if the TFV4 would just get together with the Griffin and have TFGriffins, that would be a tank. Because thatā€™s precisely what the TFV4 is, a TANK. I love itā€™s beefy construction. I donā€™t know what all the benefits are of having that thicker built construction, but it reminds me a lot of getting off my Road King and onto my brotherā€™s Yamaha. You just know one is solid and the other is wicked. (Thatā€™s wicked like cool, not like cotton  ).

Donā€™t get me wrong, the Griffin may not be hefty and built Ford Tough, but itā€™s high performance nonetheless. The AFC ring is a breeze to adjust (as if wide open needs changing, HA!) and even with my initial difficulty getting the wicking down at first I had no leaks whatsoever. Canā€™t really say what it would do if left on itā€™s side.

I DONā€™T like the drip tip that comes with it. I think itā€™s garbage, but then again Iā€™ve spoiled myself with acrylic so being the drip tip snob I am, this is probably true with everything I buy from here on out. However it does come with a perfectly fitting adapter that allows you to use any 510 you have, so thatā€™s what I did and I like that.

Overall, I think the Griffin is everything I hoped it would be. And for the craftsmanship the $35 price is very reasonable. I highly recommend this tank to anyone who likes RTAs, the velocity style deck and big olā€™ lung hits.

Iā€™ve got a 3.5mm ID 22g ti 7wraps dual coil running in mine at the moment. Awsome vape. No wicking issues and i left the ring in place.

That review makes me so glad I have one on the way. And I am thankful I have a spare mod to put mine on when it gets here. Because I donā€™t really want to shelve my Aromamizer or my TFV4ā€™s. Speaking of Aromamizer, I bought the iPV D3 for mine and I love it on this mod.
