Can we start a Substitution for a certain flavor thread?
I have asked countless other mixers what flavors they would use as a substitute if I didn’t have that missing flavor. It would be so cool if we had a thread like this that was pinned for future reference for everyone to have access to.
The reason for wanting to start this thread is because there were several of us asking what would be a good replacement for Holy Vanilla (DIYFS), a precious flavor that sadly, has been laid down to rest, forever and ever, from ashes to ashes, from dust to dust…Rest in Peace Holy Vanilla.

I will start with my example:
One of the flavors I remember asking @Mark_Turner if there was a sub for Taffy Base (SC) (Real Flavors) because that flavor is just about impossible to find nowadays unless you want to spend $65 for a large 500ml bottle, since the smaller quantities were sold out.

You just created it and everyone will have access…Shortening the title will make it easier for the search bar to find the thread.
We usually use pin for big announcement or some major thing .

There doesn’t seem to be any interest in this thread or no one has anything to contribute re: possible substitutions, so you might as well delete this thread.

No way soul sister! Finding a GOOD flavor substitute is more than a couple days of messing around. SD is working on the HV Sub currently- and Im sure others have things going too.

Give it time. I we have even 1/2 GOOD Subs, it will all be worth it!!! Have faith!!!

I got zeros for a good sub rn of my own making. I only ran across the HV that sparked my interests.

Cream type flavors are also something I SUB often, but that is a journey in itself- and I’m taking notes starting from a couple days ago.

Please share what cream type flavors you do sub for with which other cream flavor and why. This is all relevant info for all the noobs out there like me.

I’m in the same boat TBH @KC111. My mixes are just now starting to taste good! Subbing Creams rn is more a matter of what I have on hand vs what is called for in a particular recipe. CAP Sweet Cream is pretty wonderful as a sub for most my stuff, but a good vanilla cream sub is sometimes needed- and then I reach for the CAP French Vanilla… It’s a matter of how I feel at that particular moment… We need to watch the Seasoned Pros- and pick their brains!!! @Ken_O_Where - What do you think Ken?
