FLAVRZ Flavors Reviewed by SessionDrummer -- TESTING NOW!

I’m thinking Rocky probably already has a gallon bottle of Coffee Liqueur in reserve.

I already know he does, but he needs another gallon since the Coffee Liqueur is getting near impossible to find…

For any of the single concentrates you can use them higher though it will DOMINATE the recipe.
Musk is a very strong flavour and would recommend only about 4-6% in a recipe that is… total of the recipe being 15-30% depending on device and tastes.

If a recipe for example see the below

Allens Bananas
Banana 5%
Marshmallow Custard 3.5%
Dragonfruit 0.5%
Vanilla Swirl 0.7%
Fairy Floss 2%
Super Sweet 0.5%

Though the TOTAL flavouring in any recipe should not be below 15% for RTA and upto 30-40% for PODS. with 25% - 30% commercial style flavour in total.

ELR recipes you can use the spanner on the right of your tittle of the recipe…to adapt the % of the recipe

I tried the remix with tips from @Jetz cheers it worked out well. It’s been 48hrs these aren’t flavours that need a long steep. All three layers come through strawberry, creamy cheesecake and a bit of biscuit. I was about to mix a bigger bottle, might try it with an apricot and mango topping too.

But hang on I got distracted and mixed Rum & Raisin with Banana. :grinning: :grinning: I’ve tested this one off the shake because I had my wick still going from the SFT of R&R. For some reason I added the Cheesecake 2 in that mix as well. Not sure I’ve added enough banana though…

Vienna Cream (FLAVRZ) 8% (5-19-23) – Diving BACK into it with this, the Vienna Cream turned out to be interesting. Some VC’s (Vienna Creams) have an almost “sharpness” to them, but this one was much smoother than expected. It did have the typical top note that defined a VC, but below that, it was actually an almost pairing of a meringue and a light butter cream frosting. Yum. Despite being just below mid-level sweet, it had aspect of a great confectioner’s sugar on the finish. Even at 8% it wasn’t a “screamer” so it could be overpowered in a mix, but it was very tasty at that weight. Smooth but not velvety, somewhat butter cream-ery without being butter heavy, and tied together with a meringue-like center. No off-notes, and none of the “sharpness” that some other VC’s had, and a good, even, lighter cream flavor. Because of it’s relaxed nature, not sure if it could carry the main note, but in a mix, I could see this working out great. It felt good at 8.0/10.

I managed to mix some FLAVRZ concentrate testers today all @13% other than Musk Candy @8%.

As follows;
Butterscotch Ripple
Caramel Dough
Cinnamon Swirl
Marshmallow Custard
Fate Toffee
Farmhouse Custard
Honeydew
Mango Jam
Mixed Berries
Musk Candy
Peacharine
Pineapple
Pineapple Custard
Rainbow Drops
Red Energy Drink
Rum&Raisin
Rum Tobacco
RY4 Paris
Strawberry Jam
Strawberry Jam Toast
Virginia Tobacco

I’ll follow my normal routine and leave them for 14 days to steep. Once steeped I’ll post some honest opinions.

If you are single flavour testing then 8% would be the standard as @SessionDrummer has used. Though if you are looking for a flavour to as a RTV then 13% may be ok.
Not sure why you would use them at 13% for a single flavour test… but hey the should not bend at that speed either.

Have fun

This was the oneshot I mixed too low at 11%. @Jetz suggested it should have been between 25 and 30 instead. Was a bit weak so added some CC2 to it to give it a boost.

Hehe @Jetz, I wanted to get the VIC done, then jump back TO the beloved Portello.

Thanks to Darren (@Jetz), the A-portello / Portello mystery comes to an end …

Grew up with this stuff, it’s really nice. It’s “different” from regular soft drinks (soda?) like your Dr Pepper is different over there. Also used to drink a lot of sarsaparilla too.

Vanilla Ice Cream (FLAVRZ) 5% (5-20-23) – Can a Vanilla Ice Cream be clean and crisp ?? Yes it can, and this is one of them. C and C (crisp and clean) were the two main immediate take-aways on this one out of the gate. If there WAS egg in there, I didn’t get much, but more of a clean vanilla with a great creamery finish. Being DAAP free, I wasn’t expecting, nor did I get any heavy, rich buttery notes, but honestly, they weren’t missed. I’d rate the mouthfeel about a 7/10 on this one, and it was plenty strong at 5%, and was about mid level sweet. No off-notes, nothing out of place could be found. I’ve tested other VIC’s, some of which I compared to Chic Fila ice cream, and this one was similar to that, but not completely. The vanilla bean in here was very good, and paired almost perfectly with the cream/creameries. Clean finish, that lingered on the tongue, BUT, never overly heavy. For a “clean” VIC, this was one of the better ones, and being DAAP free, it tasted a lot richer than I expected. The final take-aways for this one were Clean, Crisp, Vanilla Bean, and Creameries. I couldn’t go lower than 9.5/10 on this one.

I basically test every flavour as if I was going to vape it solo and try and ascertain an opinion as to if I could vape it as a stand-alone and/or how it could work in a recipe and at what percentage.
In regards to 13% I’ve come to the conclusion that I seem to enjoy flavours more when mixed on the stronger side. Like most here I’ve SFT some that @SessionDrummer has reviewed but have tested some higher than him and enjoyed them.
I also took some guidance from your website as below.

From what I could tell the recommended percentage always appears to be between 7-15%.
Now I’ll be the first to admit this rationale has backfired on more than one occasion but ultimately the only true way for me to form my own personal opinion is to apply my rule of thumb and try them.
We all know taste is subjective and I enjoy the experimentation too.

Bugger!

Oh well, I’ll give it a whirl and if not it’s back to the drawing board.

No worries mate but bear in mind I’m not a machine like you and it’ll take me a while!
Neither can I express my opinions as well as you do but if you’re ok with this I’ll post my thoughts in this thread similarly to how I did for VT?
I’m sure I won’t be as controlled as you are in posting alphabetically either as I know I’ll want to test my perceived favourites first.

Hehe, I hear you @Gazza7. I thought I was full when Darren shipped me the FIRST 80 flavors !!!
It can be a struggle at times to keep, keeping on, especially when real life tries to get in the way. I’m curious to hear what you think.
