I’m not sure which platform we were at where we had our discussion re: wheaton bottles, so my apologies if I shouldn’t post here…
I finally got my amber wheaton bottles from Amazon and I really can’t tell the difference between these and my amber boston rounds.

Check the difference in the thickness of the glass and the tinting and finish of the glass (pitting and smoothness). Look at it in the light of outside. Cap interior seal.
Not saying it’s better or worse. Would like your opinion on what you see

@KC111 my clear Wheaton’s felt heavier than the cheaper Amazon (Glass Bottle Outlet). Also the threads on the bottle top, seal, and caps were 100% better and more rigid. I haven’t weighed them to really be sure.
Double check your old caps, bottle threads, cap seals, and compare them to the Wheatons.

My new amber 4 oz Wheaton bottles actually weigh .02 oz LESS than my amber 4 oz Boston Rounds, lol. They both “felt” like they weighed the same, the tinting appears to be identical but the caps on the Boston Round is flat compared to the Wheaton caps. My new amber 8 oz Wheaton bottles weighs the same as my 8 oz Cobalt Boston Rounds with the exact same kind of caps as the Wheaton bottles. I must have gotten some really good quality Boston Rounds, lol.

I’m sure there are other good quality bottle makers in the world but, if in doubt, go with the company with the history behind it. Wheaton started in 1888 and is still a leading manufacturer of scientific and other type bottles. The vintage and antique ones are quite valuable today.

Speaking of Wheaton bottles, I really only needed 4 litre size bottles but amazon only offered a pack of 12. Lol, Because of the sale and the free shipping it was about the same amount for less elsewhere so what the heck? Anyone want to buy Wheaton litres at a discount?
