How I build Stove Top Coils

I also have one of these ( the first one on the left called a Double Cut)

I use one of those almost every day. When I buy one I order a “Christmas Tree Burr”. Now I’m going to have to pilfer one to see if it works.

Let me know because you might get to this before I do. I’m working on something else right now.

@muth @Harlan_Grey When I first started vaping I used to try and make a coil like that. Like a small saucer or cup type coil so that I wouldn’t need a wick. Is that what y’all are proposing?

No, but I thought of making a coil shaped like an ice cream cone and filling it with cotton, lol.

I think we were both thinking that we could coil it around a cone shape then flatten it out into a stove top shape.

That’s a good Idea…

Glad you think so…you make it!

My only request is that you give me credit and call it the “Ice Cream Cone Coil”. But if it sucks just don’t say anything  Lol

I’m gonna try it this weekend sometime when I’m feeling bored. I’ll let you know what happens.

Deal!!!

If I get a chance I’ll give it a shot, too. We can compare notes  Hmm, now I have to find an atty I want to use.

Well, I got bored today. Unfortunately, the smallest one I have
is a 5/8" and the slope is too much to make a coil that will fit
in anything I own. I need an RDA with a 60mm base.

I was looking around at things I could use, too. I have a set of jeweler’s beading pliers that might work. I found the perfect deck on the NextEra RTA BF. It’s designed for vertical coils only. The only thing I don’t care for is that the AF isn’t close to the coil the way I like it. Nevertheless, it is a flavorful atty.

Hey @Dan_the_Man what atty was that, at the end of your vid?

I think he’s on hiatus. I sent him a PM a week ago, no response.

Oh okay, TZ. Well, I think I’ll continue with the thread anyway because I’ve been on a Stove Top rant lately.

After getting obsessed with Stove Top coils (aka Lolly Coil according to Damn Vape) I found this jewelry maker with a whole new spiral wire idea which i think will work better for us as vapers. Also, after seeing Jaybo demonstrate the Lolly Coil maker tool, I decided it was a waste of money because the tool does not make a Lolly Coil like the premade ones they give you, far from it. There are better spiral maker tools in jewelry products but not so relevant to vape coils in order to give you two legs to insert in your posts. Here is a jeweler making a two legged spiral:

All I did was keep the two ends longer and then you can bend them to accommodate your posts. I practiced with some cheap hobby wire (18/19g) and got this:

I’m not very good at this kind of stuff and I’m telling you it wasn’t very hard to do. This was my first try. Btw, that was 7" of wire but much bigger than I would need for an RDA.

ETA: What I like about this jeweler is that he only uses the pliers at the very beginning and the rest is all human hands. No danger in scratching up your coil.

That looks awesome!

Hey thx! I’m telling you, I found it easier than the common way of wrapping spirals.

Agreed @Sevencasper.

What the fuck? I have never seen anything like this before! …it’s freaking awesome! Wow! Do you get better flavor? And if so why?? I never understood why …right now im using lazy mesh that you just lossen off and tighten on cuz its easy. But I often wonder what coil if any is best.
I have these straight ones that are like wrapped around eachother but have no idea how to install them. Now im curious.
