Hurricane Harvey - Houston and Surrounding Areas

Meanwhile, in my neck of the woods in NorCal, air tankers are buzzing my house about every twenty minutes. Isn’t Mother Nature grand? Ground absolutely saturated already? Have another 50+ inches of rain! Woods dry as tinder? Have a little lightning to start up a blaze!

Stay safe in Houston/Texas/Louisiana. Hug the ones you love, lend a hand to the ones that need it, and remember-We’re all on this rock together. We can do absolutely miraculous things when we work as one!

Texas Dept of Transportation has set minimum distance from the ground to the bottom of street signs at 7 foot. So, you’re looking at damn close to 7 foot deep water on this street…

I have a friend from high school that currently lives in Houston. She’s fine, but I saw that she had posted a few things on her Facebook and thought I’d share them here. (I hope that’s ok!) First is a post about a German Shepherd that has been found and the owners haven’t been located:

Second is a post from about a church group offering to help with repairs:

I don’t think I’m ever going to bitch about snow again.

Good luck to all that are affected.

Guys/Gals, it appears the rains have finally stopped.
Please know that if you are in a position to share or
donate to those in need in Texas, your help is obviously
needed. I leave you with a sign that we in Texas will be alright…

OMG that is absolutely Texas thru and thru. I am from Pasadena and have lived all over the Houston area and it brakes my heart to see every thing under water.

Somehow not one of my family members was flooded.

Friends? Some have been flooded and some not.

I remember as a kid when Alicia hit. As a kid you know it’s bad but you can’t help thinking how cool it is to canoe down the road. As a kid in an Adults body my heart is heavy, but I still think that 4 wheel drive boat is pretty cool

My thoughts and energy goes out to my fellow Texans.

I have a nephew living in Dickinson who’s a Firefighter and working nonstop to rescue people and animals. His wife and baby girl are in a hotel in North Houston, out of danger, but their house is probably a gonner. Can’t get to it yet. Pic of my always smiling nephew.
