That makes me feel honored , which is not something I ever strived for as I mix to suit my taste, and if someone else can relate to what I taste in a mix, all the better :+1:

Thatā€™s the part that really brings a smile to my face :sunglasses:

Not at all, youā€™ll find a great comradely among the diy community, and the willingness of the more experienced mixers to share their knowledge is exemplary! :call_me_hand:

I can definitely say that any time I have messaged someone, they have always been great about getting back to me. But I didnā€™t want to turn this into an acceptance speech at the Oscarā€™s, thanking everyone, lol. I did however feel that my story would have been incomplete without mentioning you three, because I really do feel like you guys are what helped set this time apart from 2014 :hugs:

Thanks much for sharing your story with us. I always enjoy hearing about peopleā€™s vaping journey. The end of next month I will be smoke/tobacco free for 9 years. Vaping has made such a positive difference in my life compared to smoking. And when Denver was going to ban flavors, I found this site and community and am thrilled. Since I started mixing a little over a year and a half ago, I havenā€™t bought any commercial juice. Iā€™ve mixed some truly rotten juices, a number of mediocre ones and a few that tickle my tasted buds wonderfully. And Iā€™ve been mixing for one of my apartment mates for the past 6 months or so. Also, had a friend request a coffee vape. I just did a couple of single flavor mixes for her to try and she is thrilled with both. So Iā€™ll be mixing a couple of 100ml bottles for her this weekend. It is great to spread the word and share vaping with those who want to quit or have quit smoking.

One of my favourite old school recipes, full flavour coffee was from Alisha I thinkā€¦ It was a 1:1 ratio of A lot of Latte and Lucky Shot from DIYFSā€¦ It didnā€™t call for sweetener but I enjoyed it with a percent.

I was willing to try some recipes for her after she did the single flavor tastes, but she says she loves Cafe Brasiliano (DV) and Coffee Espresso (FA). Very quick an simple to mix for her. It feels good to make a friend happy.

For years, a juice brand called Fivefold Vapors had a popular coffee vape called Stacked. I even got addicted to it and was trying to clone it. Short story, Fivefold Vapors folded and dropped their recipes on their FB page. Guess what Stacked was? Lottaā€™ Latte, Lucky Shot and TPA Sweet Cream. Thatā€™s it! No wonder I couldnā€™t clone it, I was being too complicated

My comment to the FDA 7.5 years ago:

I started smoking as a teen in the 70ā€™s.

It started off as a fun rebellion but became a habit, then an intolerable nuisance, then an impossible to quit addiction.

I regularly smoked at least 25-30 cigarettes/day I tried to quit using hypnosis twice, the patch and/or nicotine gum countless times and cold turkey enough times to know that wouldnā€™t work for me. All were unsuccessful for more than a few hours (usually) to a few days (at most). The few times that I managed to last more than a few hours I was cranky and miserable. I had a heart attack 4 years ago (now 12 years ago) and only managed 17 days smoke-free just on fear alone. Fear for my life wasnā€™t even enough to make me stay quit. I tried a few smokes and didnā€™t drop dead so I got back up to 25-30/day within a week.

In 2013 I saw someone vaping and asked him about his e-cigarette. He told me heā€™d been smoke-free for 3 months using it. I tried an Njoy from the gas station and thought it was ok but it only lasted a few hours and I knew there would be something better available. I Googled and found a mall kiosk a few miles away. I tried and bought a rechargeable kit with assorted flavors and cut down to a few cigs per day immediately. I read continuously about vaping at ECF and other online forums and found a local vape shop offering more advanced systems and a countless variety of flavors. I visited and asked him to load a tank of his most popular flavor for me to try. I puffed an atomic fireball. I exclaimed ā€œexpletive deleted! Thatā€™s an atomic fireball!ā€ I bought all of his Fireball juice, a variety of fruit & candy flavors and a decent, variable voltage rechargeable ego battery kit. That was 3/28/2013. That was the day I completely switched from smoking to vaping. I havenā€™t had a puff of smoke in almost 2 years (now over 9 years) directly due to vaping candy, desert and fruit/berry flavored nicotine. I get the hand/mouth activity with the nicotine hit without the deadly smoke and associated mess.

I started at 24mg/ml for a few weeks, dropped to 18mg because I like the activity so I vape a lot and maintained that level for about a year. I lowered again to 12mg a few months ago so I can taste my flavors better. My latest blood work is better than my cardiologistā€™s (heā€™s 10 years younger and he jogs). I hike farther with less rest stops than before. When I smoked I couldnā€™t take a deep breath without coughing. I can feel how much healthier I am and my blood work and stress test convinced my cardiologist. Heā€™s not a vaper but totally supports my switch.

I switch between about 3-5 flavors in different setups during the day. I have about 30 different flavors in my stock. I donā€™t even keep menthol or tobacco in stock. I donā€™t like those flavors. When I first quit smoking I thought I wanted tobacco flavored vapor but as I tried other flavors I realized I didnā€™t even like tobacco. I was just used to it. The farther I am from smoking the better off I am.

I have helped other smokers to switch. My wife hasnā€™t smoked in about 2 years (now over 9 years). She still vapes a single sweet tobacco flavor that she likes out of about 5 that she tried. None of the 10+ other people I helped to switch even use tobacco flavors or straight menthol flavors. They enjoy mostly desserts, candy, custards and fruit/berries. Iā€™d say the variety of available flavors is one of the top 3 reasons vaping has been successful for us. I canā€™t imagine such a great reduced harm alternative disappearing from the marketplace. Itā€™s been a Godsend to my friends and I. Weā€™ll continue to vape no matter what but it would be tragic if current smokers donā€™t get the same chance to quit that we had.

Fantastic post and a treat to read !! Iā€™ve sent my similar story to my Colorado Representatives, Senators, Denverā€™s Mayor and my City Council Representative. We need to get our voices to the folks who ā€œmake the rulesā€ and give them facts and personal stories. Letā€™s keep on keepinā€™ on.

They donā€™t care, itā€™s population control and money to treat the sick. Just being a realist.

I started vaping about 10 years ago. Now I only vape. I have a volcano and a mighty to vape my dried herbs and then various regulated and mechanical mods for my ejuices. I really enjoy vaping, my house smells nice and not like an ashtray anymore. My favorite vape is my beloved Haku Venna with a 0.80 ohm fused clapton, its so good I actually have 2. I usually vape 3mg juice the only exception is when I have to be more discrete and use my caliburn G2 with 10mg/12mg. I am from Spain and I have travelled a bit around europe to various vape cons like Birmingam,Barcelona.

Well Having Smoked Cigaretteā€™s since i was 13 (nicking Dads Smokes) Some 40 odd years ago I have recently gotten onto vaping with the help of one of my bosses & a work mate, it did take me around three weeks to kick the cigs but now i feel better for giving them the flick.
My Weapon of choose is the GEEKVAPE AEGIS BOOST 2 (B60) it is a great unit it has taken a few tumbles in the last month & is still going it does now have a few battle scares but that just adds to itā€™s story.

@Rob_H Welcome to the board and congrats on quitting cigarettes. Glad you found the gear and juice that is a sufficient substitute. This is a great place to be to share about mixing and vaping.

Welcome to the forums @Rob_H. That transition from cigarettes to vaping is not an easy one, particularly over the first few months: The direct hit of a cigarette is hard to balance with the slow release of vaping. Donā€™t worry, many of use have found it hard but we get there in the end. I have vaped and blended for years but I can only say that I have been tobacco free for almost 2 years. And, rarely rely on the dry combustion of plant matter.

Obviously if you need any help making vapes which replicate good tobaccos then just ask.
