Absolutely here’s the link. Game Changer looked over my UC before I bought it , I was a bit overwhelmed with all the options out there but this one looked like a good option and I’m super happy I bought it.

Right, you can only go so far with the add ons. Best to start over at that point. Duly noted.

Appreciate you so much, thank you!! :tulip: I actually had that one on my list (along with another 10 or so other USCs :joy:). I was totally getting overwhelmed, I end up researching things so much & so obsessively that I always burn myself out & end up not buying anything half the time :see_no_evil: I sincerely appreciate your rec! I have so many tanks I’m avoiding cleaning bc I’m waiting for an USC & will need one soon to degass the GC liquids I’ll be mixing. All the features look so fun to play with!

Did you see the one @Kamara linked me? USC I am interested in, although 2L is probably a bit bigger than I’ll ever need! If you have any recommendations for your fave USC, I’d love to see it as well! I sincerely appreciate any input from personal experiences

Can’t wait for the GC stands, @anon36682625 ! You’re just too darn good to us here!

You’re very welcome! I tend to do the same and end up walking away after reviewing so many products. Eventually I go back and just pick one and hope for the best . But thankfully GC was willing to check out the link for me to see if it would be a good UC. I’m really happy with the heating (prepare to turn it on, put lid on and walk away for 30-40 mins while it heats up to 60C) and also the degassing. I have turned it on to heat while making juices and stuck the bottles in it then walked away to cook dinner. Haven’t tried cleaning tanks yet but will. This will be my primary warming unit and will only use the Sous Vide I purchased (still in box) for cooking only purposes unless I get froggy and decide to heat up a large VG bottle :joy::rofl:

2L isn’t really big. I use the basket so bottles only sit about 2” in water. Based on area I’m thinking I can prolly fit 6 bottles or so of 2oz Boston rounds. I’m worried about sticking it directly on the bottom of the reservoir in fear the bottle will crack.

There are a lot of people saying that items to be cleaned should not be placed on the bottom. They claim possible harm to transducers and vibration causing leaks in the tanks. When cleaning something metal I do use the basket. So I really don’t know but have placed my glass bottles directly on the tank bottom for years using the same cleaner which still operates fine. My belief is that this transmits the ultrasonic frequencies by coupling the glass directly to the tank bottom and in turn transmits a stronger wave into the liquid in the bottle.

Note that I don’t know and is speculation. However, I doubt that there is anywhere near enough power to crack a bottle. @SmilingOgre and @Sprkslfly are the resident sound and electronics experts. Whachathink guys?

Hers is what I should have bought…Ive decided to not get one . I can wait a few hours or over night for the liquid to become clear .

I don’t know anything about harm to transducers or causing tanks to leak but I often put bottles directly on the bottom of the USC. I think things might clean better in the basket as water is able to freely flow “through” all parts being cleaned. Think “scrubby bubbles” or whatever working to clean what is in the thing. Most work around 40khz. Some headphones claim to reproduce that frequency. I kinda doubt you’re going to blow your tweeters by putting something on the bottom of the rig.

I have two of them. I just can’t be bothered to pull them out because I’m never in a hurry to vape something I just mixed.

As have I.

I believe the manufacturer’s ‘warning’ is based on, or is in relation to, the premise that quite often, the transducers are adhered to the bottom of the unit with materials that may be sensitive to pressure (weight) beyond a certain point.
If you put enough weight on the inner cavity, directly on the bottom, to the point that you start to separate the transducer’s adhesive material from the bottom of the stainless steel frame, then you risk rendering the unit ineffective (effectively destroying the transfer of sound waves into the stainless frame).
*Bare in mind that this is going off of decades old memory of opening one up. I don’t recall what the material was (eg: epoxy, or what), but I remember distinctly being surprised that it wasn’t secured by a physical connection (eg: bolt and nut), until it hit me that “DUH, IT’S A SPEAKER” lol. So, yeah…

Bottom line, with as little weight as I’ve put on it (as many as 10-12 30ml glass bottles for cleaning), I’ve not experienced any problems in the past 5 years.
Also bare in mind that mine is a commercial unit (not consumer). So YMMV.

I completely agree. :grinning:

You weren’t the first to raise this issue so I did a web search. Sure enough that’s what they say. I’m just not sure who “they” are . Anyway if you like I think you would be very safe placing your bottles on the tank bottom.

On a side note both Walt and Rob were “beta testers” and were very helpful in the development of the GC.

Yes yes thanks everyone who commented. I won’t be so nervous to put them on the bottom now :rofl::rofl::heart::heart::heart: Y’all ROCK!!!

So THIS - homogenization - is the reason commercial juices just always seem incomparably better in terms of flavour?

I know theit’s expressions, but they’re far fewer than the rule: the plethora of posts on every vaping site online labeled "Why do my juices taste flavorless compared to commercial juices?" attests to the overall opinion that DIY almost never produces flavours good enough to hold a candle to what we almost always get with commercial liquids.

Is this the reason?

Sure seems like it

Sorry man but that just isn’t true.

What? Again, I have to disagree and I’ll do it whole heartedly. That is not the exception to the rule. The people writing are; either beginners or they just suck.

You hang around here a little longer and maybe you too can have better than commercial juice.
