Lotus flavor?

That makes sense. I remember loving bananas when I was a kid, but I can’t stand them now. Too bad the seed vault wasn’t around back then. Might coulda saved them. Guess the genetic engineers will have to get on creating a better banana. Of course, no one will buy them or eat them because they’re GMOs, but hey…it’d be fun! :stuck_out_tongue:

Pretty much all of the bananas that are sold and bananas as we know them, aren’t even close to what a real banana is!
Being a chef I have learned a lot about stuff like this through the years (TBH most of it scares the living shit out of me!) but it was the banana thing that really stuck with me.
The bananas we buy in grocery stores are actually one of the first, if not the first, genetically altered/engineered food stuff on the market. Real bananas have massive seeds in them and because we as humans are…well…lazy, we didn’t like the hassle of dealing with the seeds (even though the majority of fruits/veg are WAY more flavorful, ie the jelly around a tomato seed is the most flavorful part of the fruit) so they brought it into the lab and created the first seedless fruit.
If you notice those teeny tiny black specks in a banana, those are actually the seeds or what used to be the seeds.
Now removing the seeds makes for an easier time, it completely destroyed the flavor of a true banana. I have a banana tree by my work and the flavor is something I think everyone should at least experience once in their lifetime. Simply amazing! Extremely creamy and flavorful!

It’s a shame we chose GMOs and mass producing over quality and flavor :hankey:

One think that i am not sure if i ever mentioned, MF flavorings require curing. You dont shake and vape them, at least not in my experience.

Ken,

Is curing a different process then letting them steep? What’s involved?

Nope, some people use the term steep and some use curing. I just prefer the term curing.

I started my tasting notes today and only one, the watermelon, I could shake and vape… it is wonderful.

Makes me want some watermelon! Ill have to add it to the list. So far i have loved everyone one of their extracts, ive been trying to use up some of the other flavorings that i have but perhaps ill just pass them on to my nephews.

What’s the average steep time? I mixed some up today and I’m dying to vape them…

Well you could give them a go, you may like them freshly mixed but i liked the single flavor mixes best tested at a week.

Curing steeping… I think aging is the best term like a fine wine.

All organic! Tell me it’s not the same management as…5… Cause prices are definitely really high

Ken_o_where has done a lot of business with them I take it. Certainly sounds interesting.

It’s not really not bad when figure in your usage % and the superb flavor and quality. I’ll take a 15 ml bottle of this stuff over a 120 ml bottle of anything FW, Cap and TPA has for sale anyday. Sometimes with those other vendors you have a whole big bottle of lesser desired flavors. JMO.

i’m guessing you’ll be heading to MF’s website directly to order their product? what did you say? something like $22 for 15ml? definitely keep the fam posted as i am seriously interested!!! nice review, btw!

EDIT: you used drops as your measurement…is that drops through the supplied dropper from lotus?

Their droppers sucked, but they came in glass bottles. It’s from ecx repackaged. I rebottled into a decent dropper bottle. My MF order is due in today.

i’m just tryna get an idea of the dropper you used to gauge drop sizes…
my first lotus flavor should be in today…the honeydew melon…after your review, i’m more excited than before…
i’l probably go ahead and jump the gun and order straight from MF…
i looked at their site, whats those flavors listed under?

I used the vendors bottles for that mix I posted… but I didn’t like it. I’m using a fat tip dropper now. It won’t fit into tanks.

Curing would be the more appropriate term. Steeping would be appropriate for the hot water baths ( if I’m not mistaken)
But I’ve had experience elsewhere with letting things sit in jars to develop the right flavors and maturity… And that’s always been called curing.

Wow…I was just browsing the MF website and noticed their fig flavor…it must be pretty good, at $41 for 15ml!
I wonder how many others are like that?
Or if there are any higher?

I didn’t click on that one. It must be 2x better than the rest.
