I am thinking of trying to do something regarding recipes. So last year we came up with a Recipe Contest. Although it was fun and we got pretty good participation there had to be rules and restrictions to make it make sense. This year I would like to do a Monthly Recipe thread. We vote on the profile and everyone who wants developes their best version of that profile. No restrictions except the mixer needs to submit by last day of month and had to test the recipe. NO THEORY RECIPES lmao.

we will hashtag the recipes #ELRforummothlyrecipe or something more simple
we should have mutiple recipes provided vy forum members every month.
i will over time try to mix and try as many as possible and leave comments , not to judge just to support each mixer and what they created.
I will need help with the poll…For this to be fun and interesting we will need participation.
well ya polls can be done and the randomizer would be from all suggestions from members including any you would have. One thing that everyone has to keep in mind is that like the contests there will be times where the profile may not be someone’s favorite or in their wheelhouse. If the profile isnt something someone doesnt want to do then they dont.I like the randomizer because it would be everyones suggestions in one and then we pray lol…Polls seems to be limited to asmall number and make it harder to include everyones choice. I.agine a poll with 30 different suggestions
are there any rules on how specific a profile suggestion should be?
like is a mojito is too specific? we would do cocktails or tropical drinks instead?

I will play along. I would not be able to jump in every time as I travel for work and can not take my whole collection of flavours with me on a plane. But I will give it a try when ever I can.
I would suggest keeping the hashtag as simple as possible, something like: #ELRJan25 and so forth.
Also have a monthly recipe thread where participants can link their recipes to promote participation, think reddit used to do something like that…
we could add them all … Strawberry Milkshake is a specific milkshake so i think mojito would be fine. If there is enough interest we can all figure that out
not sure that picking a winner is necessary. I dont want to commit to testing otherwise i would do the contest. I was just hoping for a forum participation to showcase recipes and encourage posting those recipes. One of my goals this year is to post more public recipes and doing this will force me to lol. If a few people want to take on that responsibility be my guest.
i know…Ill tell you and im sure you feel this as well but after 10 years of mixing I find myself needing inspiration to create. I love to create and post but a lot of times i get this stagnant feeling. Myabe its just me but it happens every couple years now.
The contest helped me through last year and im really needing a push to keep going on , maybe something like this will help. Ive also stopped mixing for a lot of people. I use to mix for 20 plus people all the time now im down to a few close people

encouraging participation of those who normally would not enter “contests” would be more valuable to the community imo
I would not be against a monthly random prize giveaway to any who participate and post in the monthly recipe thread tho, that would encourage newer mixers to participate without feeling pressured…
If their not making public I don’t think this would encourage making them public. If it’s a participant type recipe the perfect custard is a three month old project over on the VC. Some people will make public their work some don’t release anything.
