Need some help for an upcoming cruise

Later this year I’m going on a cruise and I need to know what tools I can bring on board. I know they have rules about scissors limiting them to less than four inches (not a problem), but I couldn’t find anything on screwdrivers or tweezers. I really want to bring my RTA, RDA and RDTA. Would I be able to bring on a Coil Master mini kit?

My last cruise I went on I bought two Pangu tanks and the coils sucked. Didn’t last me a day and I barely made it though the week. I suppose I could just bring the OBS V. Only subohm coil I’ve actually enjoyed in a long time. I also have a Dripbox and a stock pile of coils from when I started building.

If anyone is interested, I don’t know what the ports of call are going to be. They were going to be San Juan, St. Thomas, St. Maarten, St. Kitts and Tortola. But you know what happened to those island and Porto Rico.

Your best bet would be to send them an email or give them a call.

I hope you enjoy your cruise.

Keep it simple. Do you need an RTA, RDA and an RDTA?

Pick 2. Or have the 3rd ready just not filled with juice.

If you install coils previous to the night of sailing, do you intend on having to replace coils during the trip? I wouldn’t see why you would. Take some extra premade coils from when you were building. A pair of nail clippers. An Allen key or small flathead and Phillips screwdriver and a few cotton pads should get you through.

I’m in the business, so I’m always on “board”, bringing the CM or juices, with you it’s not a problem.
When I fly it goes as cargo luggage, on board it’ll get scanned but they won’t say anything.

Just look at the company policy regarding smoking/vaping areas.
On Princess Cruises you have to vape in the smoking allowed areas…unfortunately, on the other side the staff is not that strict about it.

Note: The smoke detector doesn’t trigger with vaping :+1: :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

RDA as a back up. Metal doesn’t crack from a drop and I don’t intend to bring a spare glass. Originally I was going to leave my RDTAs at home for that reason, but then I saw the glass on my Crius and thought it would be less susceptible to damage due to the short glass.

Actually premade coils have been the plan the whole time. I probably should have explain that earlier. Sorry, stressed out. Night before we leave for the port everything gets a new coil and I load some spares into my carry on. The problem was the screw driver. But last night I was replacing the O-ring on my Crius when I noticed a little Phillips in the box. So problem solved. I’ll be taking that, a cheap pair of tweezers and nail clippers if they can cut through 22 kanthal (never tried, but I think it will).

I always do. Unfortunately they don’t go into any detail, just the same old demonization of “we don’t make the distinction between smoke and vapor”. But I know where I can vape.

Learned that on my first cruise. Now I always travel with a coconut vape for hotel rooms/state rooms. Even if anyone smells it, they think suntan lotion.

Well, thanks everyone.

This past summer went on a carnival cruise. Took the coil master v3 kit. Two mods…one rta…one rda. 18650 battery’s in a plastic case. Two 60 ml bottles and a 4 bay charger. Did not have any problems.

I’m thinking of taking a stripped down coil master mini. Obviously I’m not gonna need the coil rods and ceramic tweezers if I’m making spaced coils before the trip. And I have a cheap pair of bent tweezers with rounded tips. They shouldn’t have a problem with them. And if they do, who cares? Those things suck and only cost me a buck.

Some people handle stress in different ways. Take a few breaths and let’s think this through.

Why does it have to be 22g kanthal? Would 26-28g not suffice for 7-14 days? Are you going on a cruise to spend time with you SO or family or are you going to have the best vaping experience of your entire life?

You are over thinking this. You need the bare essentials to get by. You just need to vape and have the essentials to vape. A small Phillips screwdriver. Not only will it open your screws but it will rake out your tails and tuck the wick in the right spots. You can cut a q-tip in half and wind your coils. Simple. Keep it simple. Everything is going to be all right.

If you are cruising on RC, they have banned vaping from balconies. Smoking areas and casinos only. If you do it,in your room just be discrete. If an attendant notices, slip them some cash. This is easy stuff. You should enjoy your vacation.

That doesn’t mean that you have to vape on other gear that is not as satisfying as you’re used to. What I do agree with is that you don’t have to pack a whole suitcase with every bit of gear you have. Travel lightly.
You can easily prepare yourself, make a good few coils, even pre-wick them if you want so you just have to screw them in your rba and juice up. You may need a screwdriver, some tweezers, little scissors.

I cruised on Princess once and the smoke detector had no problems. Has anyone vaped in RCCl insides and if so was it ok?

I’ll take note of the Coconut vape, never thought about that!
I made a Pinita Colada recipe resembling the Coco Lopez that’s perfect for that! Thanks for the hint!

Regarding RCCL, not a problem.
Generally unless you start Cloud Chasing and on older ships where the detector could also be an optic detector, it won’t trigger.

Regarding the wire gauge, it’s not a huge deal. I’m just use to 22 on RDAs and RDTAs. I’ve got to go out and get some stuff for the cruise later on this week. So I’ll grab a pair of nail clippers and do some tests. If it cuts through the 22, great. If not I’ll go a gauge smaller and repeat the process.

I take just about everything. It’s my hobby. I enjoy being on balcony and making a build. Wire, pliers, tweezers, scissors, cotton, screwdrivers, all that. 3 mods, 5/6 tanks. Carnival cruise says nothing. I take in carry on.

@Debbiej Good to know. Last time I went on Carnival I used replaceable atomizer heads (Pangu) and I was massively disappointed. Kept running dry.

Well, I talked with a staff member of Norwegian’s guest services. They are fine with screw drivers. We discussed cleaning of coils briefly. They are fine with that as well so long as no vapor or smoke is produced. Since I can’t promise that, I will bring one of those travel cups and just go to the nearest smoking area…Or just bring extra coils and swap 'em out if they get gunked up.

Since I had them on the line I also asked if there were any atomizers they do not permit 'cause an RDA is essentially an exposed heating element, which if you review the policy regarding that sort of appliance (hot plates, ect.) they do not allow on board. But they are fine with RDAs as well.

I’ve cleaned coils in room. No bid deal. I’ve even vaped in there. Be careful however. The smoke alarm went off once on me. They came to check it out. Said must have been steam from shower. I didn’t say otherwise. Things are sensitive!
