Nomz for USA customers!

I wasn’t really sure where to post, but Richard asked me if I would spread the word for those of us in the US- I will say, this process is easier than it sounds. We did a couple of trial runs last night to get the kinks out- check your emails!

Hi everyone,

I am writing to inform you that at the request of one of our payment providers, we have removed the USA as a shipping destination. While we obviously do not want to do this, we have no other choice if we want to keep using this payment provider.

However, I have been testing out a work around, so that our US customers can still get their supplies. Please see the instructions below:

Part 1

  1. Add products to your basket as normal
  2. Once the checkout page has been reached, choose the option to pickup in store
  3. There will be an error stating you can’t pickup. Please click on change my location and type in our address - 2 Riada Avenue, Ballymoney and click on the autofill address
  4. Choose bank deposit as the payment method
  5. Type in your actual billing address as we will use this address for shipping. If you have a different shipping address, please leave a note on the order when checking out.
  6. Click on review order and then complete order.

Part 2

  1. Once we receive your order, we will edit the cost to reflect no tax and add the shipping cost.
  2. We will then send you the invoice to pay by email
  3. Once you have received the invoice, click on the pay now link to return to the checkout page
  4. Enter our address in the delivery section - 2 Riada Avenue, Ballymoney and use this phone number - 07595380017
  5. Choose Opayo by Elavon as the payment option
  6. Make sure the billing address is your actual billing address
  7. Click review order and then pay now
  8. You will now be able to pay by card
  9. We will process the order and ship to your billing address (or other shipping address if a note is left)

That’s it! I hope you find these instructions easy to use. This method will work for existing and new customers.

I know this isn’t an ideal way to purchase your items, but it’s the only way we can accommodate our US customers going forward.

We have a lot of US customers who are not subscribed to these emails, so if you could pass this info on to anyone who you might think would be interested, that would be great.

@muth yea… he asked me to help spread the word for those that haven’t signed up for emails. It’s an easy fast process that just takes a little work-around :slight_smile:

Thanks @Lynda_Marie, it sounds tedious and ready for some human error, BUT, I’m sure once you do it, it’s easy enough. Two things I’m wondering.

  1. What’s up with their current payment company ?
  2. Why are they excluding US shipping ?

Just submitted order, and it was a little buggy (so far), followed all the steps, chose change my location and chose the autofil for their address, but at the bottom of the page, “Complete Order” wouldn’t click. No errors, no “need to fill out” 's, just wouldn’t click. Went BACK up to the “change my location”, and RE-chose the 2 Riada from the auto complete again, and then it did work.

Hmmmm …

I don’t know how long it takes for them to send the updated email, so I’m going to see.

No, PayPal hasn’t been an option since 2021 (?) I believe. PayPal doesn’t do vape related things anymore

I’d imagine in the morning their time. When we did the trial runs I obviously got the email right away, but it’s 1 am snoozing time there lol Let me know how it works for ya. I’ll be interested to hear if it went smoothly!

The current payment processing company wants Us off as a shipping option due to vaping/nic related restrictions here. Even though it’s just flavors it’s still regarded as vaping products.

Update, alright, got email next day, and followed the steps (had to re-read what to do, because I forgot), what address, phone number where, LOL, and I was finally able to pay, and it appears to be shipping.

Rather convoluted to some degree, but not terrible. It’s confusing mostly because we are used to just typing in OUR addresses, OUR billing info, and just paying, so you DO have to pay attention to the email or post above, and make sure you put in THEIR address, and THEIR phone number where required, and YOURS where it is required LOL.

It works, just a little bumpy.

It definitely is…It took me a few times under Richard’s direction on messenger with him explaining and then giving me his address and phone number and then me choosing the wrong payment etc…when all was said and we finally got the UK local tax off the order, it was done. I just copy pasted the address info into my notes. Thankfully I don’t really need anything from there yet lol

Yeah, I mean it’s do-able @Lynda_Marie, and I still shop there quite a bit, so I’m sure it will get easier. Shame that NomNomz is being put in that position.

I have been checking my emails as I had an order in the air when I saw the new ordering restrictions. Today I received my last order in the mail using the initial method. And thought it would be the end of me ordering from Nomz. I’m small potatoes only 6 orders but it may deter me. But I have used them just as much as BCF. I’m hoping it gets less of a hassle. assuming if the USA has a large market share and they see a dip. they will pick up another provider. I really hope so. I like their selection. Layout and the personalized thank you scribbled on the paper invoice.
