Going to try the other mesh strips soon, I burnt the chill already when I ran out of juice but really enjoyed it up until then.

Good to know on cleaning the mesh and reusing. Plan on buying more SMRT mesh and cotton for Black Friday.

Anyone find a place to buy the mesh and cotton in bulk or for the best price? Guessing China, maybe fasttech?

My apologies if this has already been covered somewhere in this thread but has anyone actually used this kit with the Smok Baby Beast sub ohm tank and if so how well did it function?

I did. I use a baby beast on a vaporesso swag as a pocket rig. It worked great. The flavor is very good compared to other factory coils. I’ll post why I think below.

Most coils of this style use a wider mesh piece which results in a wider airflow path. In my experience, the best flavor has usually come from smaller openings. The airflow dilutes it or something especially for mid range/lower wattage. I’ve always preferred dual or triple openings because the singles had too much air/ less flavor(if that makes sense). The best single coil mesh coils I’ve tried are for the Nunchaku tank. They use a smaller opening than most baby beast styled mesh coils.

I don’t have direct measurements in front of me. Maybe they’re closer to the same size than I think but these new Wotofo ones seem to be a bit smaller. I think @muth checked measurements one time and saw these RBA ones are smaller.

Thank you very much for your help, it’s much appreciated. It makes perfect sense about too much air diluting the flavour and a more condensed vape increasing it, it’s like when I cut the airflow down a bit on my atomisers and the flavour increases.
The reason I asked is because I have a Baby Beast tank that came in a kit with the Smok Alien and it’s just sitting in a display cabinet doing nothing because I don’t buy stock coils any more. This Wotofo kit will bring it back into service and I may as well get some use out of it.

Hear, hear! I still have my two OG Uwell Crown tanks. They’re pretty large but that’s fine with me. It was the first drop in coil tank I tried and was amazed at the flavor. I keep them around just in case I can’t use my hands for building. I was supposed to have surgery on my dominant hand but opted out for now. They’ll be used in my future for sure.

Haha, that’s amazing and creative Damon! I have my unusual but handy ways of doing things, too. Always fun to fiddle.

I wish you well with future treatment for your hands when the right time does come. I have four of the Uwell Crown Mini’s, one in each colour and I find them aesthetically pleasing to the eye, they have a well engineered almost industrial look about them and the quality of the build is excellent. Good on you for keeping your originals.

I installed it in my Cerberus tank and found it as good as or better in flavor at a smaller size than the commercial coils allowing for more liquid. I have the OG RBA in my Baby Beast and have no reason to swap it out.

I have the original Smok BB RBA but I kept getting shorts which is a notorious problem with it so I stopped trying to use it in the end.

Take a file to the outside bits of the bottom of the positive bit on the RBA where it makes contact when screwed into the base and your shorts will go away, iv been using this RBA since they came out for my desert flavours because it really gives good flavour

I remember doing that on the Cloud Beast RBA so I will try it on this one. I never liked the quality or the press fittings on these Smok RBA’s and the posts can get a bit wobbly too which can cause the ohms to fluctuate. I found it pretty shoddy in comparison to something like the Aspire Cleito RBA section which was out at roughly the same time, that was a good quality piece and I never had any issues with it. I am still going to try to Wotofo kit because I like the idea and concept of the design plus I enjoy tinkering with things lol.

I’ve never had trouble with any of Smok’s RBA’s but have read others have, especially with the Baby Beast ones. Mine have been good. It’s one of the best ones they’ve made vape-wise IMO. The airflow isn’t massive , which it usual is with Smoke tank RBAs. It’s got a nice semi-restrictive draw, and really good flavor. It doesn’t need large coils either to perform well either. It kind of reminds of vaping on a griffin but a bit better flavor.

I must admit that when it did work it worked well but the performance was so inconsistent on mine that it was unreliable and a total PITA.

When you reassembling the tank make sure you screw just the base on your mod first then screw the RBA into the base this will help to.

Thank you @Dippy1 for that tip, now that you mention it I do remember that there is a sequence of steps to follow when reassembling the tank with the RBA fitted but I had forgotten which way it went.

Hard to find now but the original Advken Owl subohm tank is compatible. I haven’t been happy with the Big Baby’s AF. It’s noisy as all get out.

A few months later after using the WOTOFO SMRT coils (TFV8 BABY BEAST ver.) I freaking love these things they make such a perfect coil. But what really grinds my gears about them is when trying to separate the top and the bottom I don’t know about anybody else but mine get completely jammed together even with the pliers for tanks with the ceramic tips man they hard to get out.
What a great $25 investment to make 30 something coils!

@INOIROC Hi! Would you know if the Smok T-Air will take these SMRT Coils? I know you like experimenting with subtanks, rbas and such so I thought you’d be the person to ask.

I would have to say no. The TA coils are more plug and play type coils from what I’m looking at online. Flat bottom. The SMRT coils have the bottom that extend out screw into the bottom fixture of the tank.
