According to my conversation with Capella they removed CMR1&2 and STOT1 on the V3s but I do not know why the others wouldn’t be but I would only assume they contain those compounds

OK, I’m with you on EU regulations but food flavorings really aren’t in the scope of the TPD.
If I understand you correctly, CMR means Carcinogenic, Mutagenic or Toxic for reproduction but what is STOT1?

Specific target organ toxicity it i think. I assume the 1 means category 1

there is a table about halfway down the page (I dont know if the categories are different elsewhere)

Reached out to Capella re my question (which is probably answered by the ethyl alcohol distillation of the essential oils but want to hear it from them) - stay tuned"
> Hi, I’ve been wondering about the following question and would really appreciate an answer:
> I’ve noticed a number of your citrus flavors (and perhaps others) have natural oils listed on the specifications/safety sheet documentation. For example Juicy Lemon lists LEMON OIL ARGENTINA - KERRY Cas# 8008-56-8 %5 - < 10. My question is are all the oils removed before the final product is finished (in other words are they just utilized to extract the aromas {which are water soluble} leaving the oil portion behind?

Thank you for reaching out to us. This is a great question!
I’ve added our Regulatory Specialist here to help assist with your inquiry and will receive a response soon.
In you have any further questions, please let us know.

Vaping any oil causes oil deposits in the lung. The lungs do not clear out oils well. For sure, oil in the lungs cause fatty pneumonia that are almost impossible to treat and there is no way to get the oils back out of the lungs. This is well documented in thousands of medical journal articles. Please be smart about vaping, it would be sad to loose the option of not smoking because of ignorance.

Unfortunately the ones at risk generally don’t join forums.

Here is the answer from Capella I received today:

*Hi *
Here is the answer I received regarding your question:
It depends:
For citrus flavors where higher levels of oils are seen, the physical oil soluble portions of the oils are removed as extracts are used to make the products water soluble.
For other flavors with very small amounts of oils: sometimes the oils are used to topnote or round out flavors – these oils will be used as oils – they will be dispersible in propylene glycol or ethyl alcohol at lower levels (usually at less than 0.1%).
If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
Thanks,

I’m curious exactly what they’ve “New and Improved”. Not sure if I should hoard up on some V2’s or not. I looked at the PDF, and both show AP free, except that the older V2’s weren’t “Improved”, and are now discontinued.

I contacted capella and was told V3 is an improvement in flavor over V1 and V2 and is still A/P free. Atleast that was the intent.

Ok I haven’t done a thorough search of the forums so this might not be anything new but…
I just finished chatting with Capella and it seems the “Killer Custard” some have heard about is now being released as “Creamy Vanilla”.
Just an FYI… :sunglasses:

@TorturedZen thanks for letting us know about this important info mate, it could save some of us from going on a wild goose chase looking for the “Killer Custard” that doesn’t exist anymore.

I’m confused, I have both of them and while I haven’t used the Creamy Vanilla they don’t smell that alike.
