Real Flavors! All Natural VG Based Flavors

I ordered 9 ml samples of all the flavors that One Stop DIY carry and after reading through this whole thread, I’m really excited to try them out. they’re scheduled for delivery tomorrow, and thankfully it’s my day off, so it’s going to be a DiY party for me!
I really appreciate all the reviews and tasing notes put out on this thread.

Since the VG thread has become intermingled with extracts, I’ll post the few thoughts I have here.

So far I’ve only been able to start tests on the Boysenberry extract (which was bumped up in line out of respect for a friend here).

I mixed this up two days ago at 1%, and ran it through the UC for two hours. I let it sit for 24hrs, and didn’t breath it, since it was such a minute amount of extract used. When I tasted it, it was “present” but a slight but of alcohol was evident.
I decided to breathe it for about an hour, and sample again the next day.

Day 2, a bit more prevalent in flavor, but unless this comes into a much larger bloom, I’m suspecting that I’m going to have to raise this one by 50% (to 1.5%) and retry… The alcohol was diminished though. Only ever so slightly noticeable.

Still have to get to the marshmallow and custard extracts, but those are on hold for the time being.

Good luck! Don’t forget the VG flavors like a longgg steep to fully develop flavors

The Aged Bourbon Cream is really nice after some more steeping. I re-wicked my dripper today because the taste of the OSDIY Lotta Latte I tested would not go away and after priming it with unflavored 0mg pg/vg and breaking in the rayon with a few vapes the ABC was the first thing I tried. If you like bourbon, and like cream, you should like this. That being said, I have never actually drank bourbon cream (drank lots of bourbon though) but am probably going to try and find/order a bottle of buffalo trace bourbon cream for comparison.

Ok now I am ready to review some of my recent mixes.

Mix of strawberry, apple and blueberry is perfect, I mixed it from VG based flavors, but like it more from extracts.

Mix of watermelon and Strawberry, that I posted above was wrong. At the same time I mixed opposite mix, where Strawberry is 1.6% and watermelon 0.5%. Can recommend it. Very tasty.

Also I noticed that extracts are not sweet and I need to add sweetener to mixes.

Thank you very much for the update. I will be skipping that one, I was thinking it was going to be like a bourbon vanilla cream like the baking extract, not like the alcohol. Thank you for the feedback and your work

no vanilla notes in it really that I could detect, just bourbon and cream. I like both of those things and it makes me want to try the real thing but I am a bourbon geek and feel bad for never having drank it before I vaped it.

Thanks, MysticRose! I’m planning on making some small zero nic samples and do a heat steep to get and idea of the flavor profiles and how they work for me, but I’m anticipating a long steep time to allow them to round out fully. Fortunately I have plenty of juice to keep me patient (Well at least a little bit patient!) since I make my tried and true ADVs 100ml at a time. I’m really interested in the Extract line, as it seems the required percentages are super low, so I’ll use the VG flavors to guide me in what extracts to get.

Well, my Real Flavors came in (along with others) and after giving them the smell test, I had to jump right in and start making some testers.

I heated up some water in a pyrex casserole dish and put the 9ml bottles in to heat up a bit. While that was working, I broke my the scale and mixed up 10 15ml bottles of 0 nic 75/25 base. After that was done I started mixing in the flavors at 10%, and ended up with this!

Now I just need to speed steep them a bit give them a taste and the start the long wait to maturity.

ETA: Well, my uploading skills apparently need some work, but managed to get the pic to work via Photobucket!

Nice review, looks like I have more extracts I need to order :+1:

I know @Walt_RealFlavors mentioned the Raw Extracts are just that, raw. Somewhere in this thread he mentioned to think “Sweet” when asked about what is missing from the raw extract compared to the VG Flavors.

Anybody have recommendations on what mixes great with Condensed Milk? I was thinking maybe a little Dulce de Leche or wait, just thought INW Cherimoya would probably be a tasty mixer with it. Would be great if Real Flavors came out with a raw extract Cherimoya…yum.

What percentages are people getting good results with the RE Condensed Milk? The 1% I made with a little bit of sweetener was great in my dripper but not strong enough in a tank, made another at 1.5% that is steeping.

Cheesecake, custard, ice cream, coffee, cakes, frostings, cupcakes, cream pies. Brownies, darker fruits, caramel. Dulce de leche is actually created from heating a can of sweetened condensed milk in boiling water for a long time. I think like an hour at a simmer? So it would probably be really good with it. I love it, and am trying it in everything right now. Fantastic in PB and cheesecake.

lol…but that is baklawa, not baklava. Is it the same thing?

yes, many dishes from that region have different spellings for the same dish such as mujadara, mjadra, mujadra (I grabbed some of this (lentils and rice) today also from the same place). It is definitely baklava, and one of (maybe THE) best I have tried in this area. I actually tried some from a different bakery last week and wasn’t very impressed. The corner store by me does pizza and stuff and occasionally they have great baklava for sale. I have a feeling it is the owner’s wife that makes a big tray at home and sells it by the piece at the store as it is not always available. I really need to do a side by side of that vs this to determine the best in the area.

Man I haven’t had baklava in ages, I need to see if someone sells it around here, and order some of the flavor (Just to stay kind of on topic.)
