Real Flavors Super Concentrates Tasting Notes (Part 1)

This is a berry i would like to reproduce in a liquid. Cloud Berries
Copied this from Wiki:

The ripe fruits are golden-yellow, soft and juicy, and are rich in vitamin C. When eaten fresh, cloudberries have a distinctive tart taste. When over-ripe, they have a creamy texture somewhat like yogurt and a sweetened flavour. They are often made into jams, juices, tarts, and liqueurs.

My first post here as this seems to be the place to be to talk about the RF SC’s.

I recently recieved my first shipment of 5 SC flavours… Cinnamon Bun, Lemon Cake, DF Cookies and Cream, DF Twinkie and French Toast.

I just mixed up each flavour seperately at 2% to try them out before mixing with other flavours/brands. I am anxious to try them but will wait a week to do a quick RDA test.

Am I on the right track with these percentages?

I generally use FA, Cap, and TFA and add anywhere from 8 to 20% flavour to my mixes, but the SC flavours seem to be used in the 1.3-3.5% range from what I have read

Cheers!

Yeah I think 2% is going to be a pretty good starting point for most of them. Did you have a peak over on the recipe side to see your specific flavors’ suggested %s?

i think its a great starting point , but these flavors dont seem to develop until the 2 week mark so after a week i think you might not get a great taste for what the flave may be

Thanks @VapeyMama and @fidalgo_vapes.

Appreciate the feedback.

I will wait a couple of weeks t try my DIYs and check out some recipes that include RF SC flavours.

Walt from RF recommends percentages of sc flavors to be roughly 1/4 of what u normally did but scrolling the thread u might find a mix containing those flavors. The few ive working w/ i have been dancing close to 1% in mixes. Stated by others some flavors do fade w/ steeps of a few weeks so % might need to be raised for those that require one.

This is the only one on your list I have used so far. I found my happy spot to be 4% with a 2 week steep and it is as close to real deep fried Oreo cookies as I think you could possibly get in a vape. I see no reason to add anything to it. I have been vaping it everyday for about a week now.

re-testing some flavors recently and the Nutmeg I mixed on 18Mar at 1% is quite potent. It seems quite authentic to the spice, though I haven’t ate any nutmeg spiced anything recently. The Bavarian Cream I had at 2% before that was very good as was the Apple Pie at 2.5% I tested yesterday.

I am thinking it is time to franken-tester mix the first batch of 7 testers that are now a month old. I would rather vape them standalone and not sure how the mix of 7 will taste but I have a lot more flavors to test that I need to wash those bottles for:

The 7 getting mixed together will be:

bread pudding 2
butterfinger
cinnamon roll 2
deep fried oreo
deep fried twinkie
french toast 2
paczki

It should be interesting if nothing else, when I eventually get around to vaping it in 3 or 4 months lol.

The Apple Pie I had mixed at 2% two week steep, not as pronounced a flavor profile as I anticipated. I will be moving the this flavor profile to 3% in my next batch mix. Oatmeal Cookie @ 2% & Rice Crispy Treat @ 2% are spot on. (edit) Cinnamon Toast is also going to be increased from 2% of mix to 3% IMO this flavor concentrate also benefits greatly from a slight enhancement of added cinnamon. Palates differ so that is just like my opinion

yes, i want more flavor from it as well but I expected that I will take it up to at least 3.5% when I mix a batch. I do all my testers lower than I expect to eventually mix them. Others that I mix single flavor like french toast and pumpkin pie I have done at 3.5% in the past for large batches but I am also curious now how much better they might be at 5 or 7 percent after some recent posts by others saying they like the SC up in that range better.

Boy, I really hope that mixing in the 5%-7% range isn’t warranted.

Me too. I have been plenty happy with my recipe testers and big batches of single flavors at 3.5% but I am curious so going to try one recipe that I know I like at all 3 different percentages to see.

I have a 220ml batch of french toast I mixed at 3.5% 29Oct that is excellent. Well steeped at this point but great flavor and no flavor fade that I can detect after 5+ months. It has lasted so long because I quit tank vaping it and put it into the rotation for my dripper among 5 or 6 other flavors so it doesn’t get vaped a lot lately.

that would change a lot wouldnt it

@wvsanta

Do you generally like very sweet/high flavoured juice?

I ask as my 2% batch of DF cookies and cream (Oreo) might just get bumped based on your post…

Edit: one of my TFV8 tanks needed a coil replacement, so I decided to load it up with my 2% DF Oreo mix. Steeped a grand total of 24 hours with a couple of hours left open to breathe.

Very impressed with my first faste of Real Flavors. Very good stuff. Tastes like an Oreo but I find it does have a bit of a coffee/mocha note on the exhale. Not chemically tasting at all which is a big plus.

Not sure how it will be after a few weeks, but I am going to make a couple 100ml 2% batches to leave for a month or two. Will add more if it fades a bit.

I don’t think I will need more than 2-2.5% flavour with this one and I am amazed at how good it is as a stand alone flavour with only one day steeping.

Have you tried the pancake yet my dear? Hovering over the “add to basket” button

I liked the pancake just fine when I tested it at 1.5%. I haven’t tried a higher percentage or big batch yet. If (when really) I make a big batch of it standalone I will probably bump it up to 3 or 3.5% as suggested on the recipe side of the site. I have plans for a few recipes using it but I am a long way off from making more standalone batches or proper recipes due to my current stockpile of steeped juice and flavors to test.

I tried my 3% tester at 24 hrs and all I got was strong Oreo cookies but at just a little over 2 weeks the fried Oreo taste came out more and at just over 3 weeks it had lost some of the potency it had at 2 weeks. Now just 2 days shy of 30 day steep it has not changed at all from the 3 week point so I have bumped that one up to 4% as a single flavor mix.

Please keep in mind I am mixing at 100% VG and only making final decisions on how it vapes in a Kayfun V5 tank so if you are using PG your results may vary dramatically from mine. I am only ready to give my final 4 weeks thoughts on 3 of the BETA version flavors.

BETA version deep fried Oreo 4% as a single flavor mix and it is now in my daily rotation as a single flavor mix I don’t think it needs anything

BETA version Butterfinger 3%—same as above

BETA version Melon Medley 3% same as above but let me add this is the first Melon anything I have ever liked and I actually vape this everyday as a single flavor mix.

More flavors to come soon as they get closer to a 4 week steep.
