Real Flavors Super Concentrates Tasting Notes (Part 1)

I made a mix with 1.5% Baklava, some brown sugar, butterscotch, marshmallow and I think almonds that I enjoy but the people around me don’t. Everyone says the same thing, doesn’t smell good. I have been messin with a friend of mine telling him I am going to sneak some baklava into a mix I make for him…I just get the same reaction…nope, nope, nope…haha

Update on the Burst Candy Flavors:

Yellow Burst- After trying this at .75, 1.5 and 2%, I definitely need to bump this flavor up. After just two weeks it has faded and I can hardly taste the 2% tester. Will have to make another couple batches at 3 and 4%. Loved the flavor initially but this one definitely fades.

Red Burst- My testers at 1.5 and 2.5% both are still very vague, moving these up for the next batch as well.

Orange Burst- Only tester that tasted good was my 3.5%; not too much orange but it is almost there, will do a 4% batch and report back. Very pleasant taste though, very sweet.

Pink Burst- Still loving this flavor, even at just 1.5%. Next mix will be 1.75, definitely the stronger of the three.

@fidalgo_vapes
Good to know on the coffee I used the Blueberry Muffin at 2% and it was sweet and pleasant, but not very much bread texture there.

i did the bb muffin at two % as well light bb taste not much muffin taste , but ive always had a hard time with bb ive never found it to be great as a vaping fruit ( thats just my opinion ) ibe also never used bb extra or the bb candy which seems like those from tpa are used a lot with an additional bb so i may get the bb extra to use as a second bb flave

btw is there a wish list on the RF site? Where you can place items you intend to purchase on a different visit to the site?

This is just a thought ive had the last few days and its me basically asking myself this question , WHY am i expecting RFSC flaves to be great as single flavors ?? the answer i have came up with is , I shouldnt be , because ime ive never EXPECTED any other manufacturers flavor to be spot on to what it is supposed to be , before RFSC ive tested almost every flavor i have and never expected it to be ready to vape as a single flavor i do expect a single fruit like strawberry to be very close though lol , i have tested so i could learn what that flavor is and what it would work good with , what percent its best at but ive never bought anything and expected to not have to mix other things to make it better or to create a finished product that i like to vape , i mean seriously i wouldnt take FA cream whipped and test it at 3 percent or whatever hoping that id be able to vape that as a stand alone , i never took TPA strawberry ripe at 6pct or whatever hoping i would be able to vape it alone , so why am i doing that with these flavors , and as i read through the notes everyone has listed it seems maybe some others have as well ( maybe not ) it just may seem that way to me because thats what i have done , so now i go back to the drawing board and retest with a different thought on my mind …

@Walt_RealFlavors had a wishlist feature then scrubbed it (and all my saved flavors) and said he is redoing it

I believe many people have been looking at what your stating with the same frame of mind. For an answer, and I’m just spit balling here… it started way back (okay not way back but last year) when @Walt_RealFlavors asked for people to beta test flavors he was producing. As more people attempted to help in the project (which may or may not of happened with out vendors in a public arena… but I never had seen it), people started to make comments on if the single flavors they were using were good enough to be standalone flavors.
That attempt (for the flavors to be stand alones) continued and many “expected” future flavors to be as such. I keep attempting to say the flavors are meant for additions to food, like added to a white cake mix maybe to give that white cake a different flavor or possibly in drink mixes. @Walt_RealFlavors has (imho really) gone out of his (and Real Flavors) way by utilizing requests from members here and elsewhere in attempts to provide flavors we might use to create things we like, with less hassle (i.e. getting close to a flavor that will please a large group, and that group needing little to no additional flavorings to create the desired end product).
Yes they may need other things added to them to satisfy a peculiar taste or concept and that (at least for me) is how I view them.
Personally I would like to know how much of Peach SC and/or Strawberry SC one should add to a standard white cake mix to give it a bit of flavor, I’m thinking of making some cupcakes and divide the batter up for different flavors.

thank you for your thoughts to my question , i almost feel by being in this state of mind i personally have not given RFSC a fair shake , and havent properly tested to give these flavors the best outcome for mixes with other flavors , which ill correct , im hoping those with the same thought while testing may rethink and test like all other flaves , im happy i have come to this conclusion now ill stop chasing that single flavor perfection lol

If nothing else it might save you from mixing 3 or 4 different strenghts of the same flavor. Mix 1 at a set percentage, say 2.5% (if using the SC version) taste it a couple times (sure wish I had a good RDA instead of a tank) if you feel the flavor is too weak determine how much you have left of the single flavored batch your playing with then add the needed amount to up the flavor percentage from 2.5% to what you think might be better. Do the reverse to drop the percentage.
This is just to be done for what you already do (or may have done) for other flavors you use, just to see where a flavor stands so you know how to play with it later. If ya come along with a flavor and you like it as it is (as a stand alone) kewl… if you think it needs help with other things… again, kewl… diy nirvana you get to produce a recipe for what you though (or think) would be a good flavor/vape… just don’t forget to share your findings…
Main reason I normally don’t post what I think on some of the flavorings I’ve played with is it has already been stated by others, I don’t really see a need to state what others have said. It isn’t a popularity contest (at least not for me). If I don’t like something and others have basically said the same thing I see no need to kick a dead horse. I also don’t see a need to toss a flavor up on a pillar unless it is something to really to rave about, and to be honest there are just too many flavors to toss many up on a pillar.

@SessionDrummer what was you conclusion on that Condensed Milk you were playing with? Was the 2.5% too strong if mixed with other things… I seen others (or at least I thought I read), it could possibly be used at a bit under 1% in a mix. I was thinking of using it in the blind (not having tried it), as a background note in the Charlie Noble recipe but with a few changes as follows:
Charlie Noble’s PB Cereal ch2
7.00% Peanut Butter (TPA)
3.50% Vanilla Custard v1 (CAP)
2.00% Sugar Cookie (SC) (Real Flavors)
1.50% Marshmallow (SC) (Real Flavors)
1.50% Peanut Butter (SC) (Real Flavors)
1.10% Malted Milk (TPA)
0.50% Condensed Milk (SC) (Real Flavors)

Looks tasty it will be very creamy if that is what you are shooting for. :grinning:

On a totally unrelated note I finally got rid of all the rf sc tall thin bottles - I hated those things they just tipped over all the time - it took me awhile but it is done now

I’ve been doing the same thing. As soon as I open a bottle to try it, I transfer it over to a glass dripper bottle (cobalt blue 30ml with a eye dropper) and re-label it. Costing me an arm and a leg (getting pretty good at hopping though), but I feel it is worth it so as not to have to use pipettes, washing a community eye dropper, or fighting with tops that hold parts of flavors in their tips.

Glad the labels peel off pretty easily or it would have been even more of pita.

@CallMeTut I am only about half way through testing all of my RF SC flavors, and all testing done is single flavors. I haven’t started mixing them yet, gotta clear my deck first. I assume however because it is strong @ 2.5, 1.0 or less would probably be very wise when mixing.

Hehe yes, had o problems peeling them off, and sticking them back on my new 30ml PET’s.
