Recipe Label print option

Might just be me, but I think the ability to print a recipe as a label would be awesome. Maybe just a standard 2"x3" address label or whatever the standard for a label printer is. Just something simple like the recipe minus any notes. Not sure I’d even need the ml or grams as long as the ingredients, percentages, nic, and vg/pg ratio were there. Would save having to keep a notebook separately to track what was in each variation too.

I realize a lot of people like to be creative in their labels. This is more focused on keeping track of the different variants in trialing a recipe though.

The bottle @Alisa made for me has the recipe on it also  see:

Yup, that’s the style I mean. Except it would be cool if you could print right off the recipe site to a label format.

Yes, having a label template page on the site would be pretty awesome.
Select a recipe to print>goes to template select page>choose template>print.
The only part that would be harder is setting margins to print properly on printable sticker label pages… something like Avery offers with their templates. because it is so specific to type and brand of pages…
it would be much easier if you intend to just use regular paper, cut it out, and tape it on, though.

Printers like Brother QL700 Label Printer use pretty standard sizes. Wasn’t referring to inkjet, laser jets and all the optional paper types that go with them.

well darn-it, that’s what i need :stuck_out_tongue: i only have an inkjet.

haha… I’m glad you appreciate that one. It’s the only label I have ever put the recipe on.

Well something similar to the “Copy as Simple Text” option would work for both of us.

Copy as Simple Text gives the following output:

LemonHead : http://e-liquid-recipes.com/recipe/581324/LemonHead

0.7% Koolada 10% (TPA)
3.5% Lemon Sicily (FA)
0.5% Lime Tahity (Cold Pressed) (FA)
1% Marshmallow (FA)
3% Strawberry (Ripe) (TPA)
3% Sweet Strawberry (CAP)

Flavor total: 11.7%
Remember to rate it at: http://tjek.nu/r/4Dxt

With just a little extra formatting instruction and data included, this would be my ideal:

LemonHead

0.7% Koolada 10% (TPA)
3.5% Lemon Sicily (FA)
0.5% Lime Tahity (Cold Pressed) (FA)
1% Marshmallow (FA)
3% Strawberry (Ripe) (TPA)
3% Sweet Strawberry (CAP)

Strength: 3mg
Flavor total: 11.7%
PG/VG Ration: 30/70
Date Mixed: April 14, 2016

Those recipes made my lemon sensor go off.:joy:

I have to give credit to @Uncaged for those. It just happened to be what I was looking at when I made my post.

It’s pretty good too

@Alisa That label is very nice. Elegant and not trashy.
Are you using your printer, or a label maker ?

I use a plain Dymo labelwriter label maker. It’s easy to use and I really like it.

How’s your lemon head after 2-4 weeks of steeping? That looks so good.

That’s an @Uncaged recipe. I haven’t made it yet. Need to order a couple flavors first. He can chime in though. :grinning:

I’ll tell you if it gets that far  I can say it’s good after a couple of days. With no stubborn creams or custards you could call it a “shake’n’vape” though I do expect it’ll get better with time. It’s nice and zesty with a slight cooling effect right now. The strawberry is very light though, so I hope that comes through some more in time.

I was curious…I have a Brother and a P-Touch and use them regularly.
I have label software in my laptops that I’ve used for years, using a HP wireless inkjet and a Konica Minolta laser printer.
I bought two new HP Pavillion minis for Christmas for Windows 10 and it has been giving me hell trying to do what I’ve done for so long Win 10 is a bit querky with some of my programs, so I have to keep a laptop out next to each new Mini just to run certain things. I have a lot more options in the software, but for normal use I simply pull out the Brother or P-Touch and it’s over in a flash…nice and easy.
Do you know which model you have?

[I know the P-Touch is made by Brother, but one of mine is just a Brother]

I wish I could shake and vape. But I’m a stealth mixer. It takes way too much work to setup everything. So I mix every two weeks or so.

But back on topic. I love the ideas of labels and recipies on the label. I wish I did that. I just pull out the paint sharpie and write directly on the bottle. No tape, no mess, no fuss. But with my horrible handwriting I couldn’t write a hole recipie. But I do right things. Strawberry v2 2/18, 4/18 (mix date), then…+whatever new twist like kiwi. Or “all jacked up”. That way two weeks later and I pull a bottle I know what I’m getting…

Except when I vape the “all jacked up” mix. That one I did something weird. It’s all tracked on the recpie sheet. But it like a game. You know your getting a strawberry, but there is supposed to be a surprise

Dymo labelwriter 450 <— it’s that. Dunno what I was thinking when I wrote ‘Brother’ earlier.
