[REQ] Bad mother custard diy

if I’m understanding what I read correctly, that post with the recipe for the bad mother custard I was taking down by the author of custard recipe? is that what that is?

Sorry, my brain is not awake today. I’m not understanding the question.

I did a SF on that Hollandaise Cream (SC) (WF) and it was just dreadful. How is it working out for you?

It didn’t give me my egg. So yeah still on the hunt. It’s okay in the mix as in basically just gets hidden by the other flavors LOL

I know I am brand new to this.but I keep wondering about ice creams? I don’t see any in your recipe… but would a rich vanilla ice cream flavor have egg notes as ice cream contains eggs? Or a thick cream like tahitian vanilla perhaps? Maybe a cookie layer? I don’t think Cheesecake would work as its would be hard to miss the flavor… hmmm. yes, it’s amature hour! I hope I’m not being too ridiculous…
I see my attempt to insert a quote failed :joy:

Oh! The recipe above was a new base I was trying out the Hollondaise in because I knew that profile and didn’t want to single flavor taste the Hollondaise on its own in case it tasted like eggs. My original custard recipe is actually this one.

TOC’S Custard Dreams : https://e-liquid-recipes.com/recipe/2902124/TOC%27S+Custard+Dreams

1.50% Golden Butter (CAP)
2.00% Graham Cracker (Clear) (TPA)
1.50% Madagascar (Vanilla Classic) (FA)
2.00% Sugar Cookie v2 (CAP)
1.00% SugarDaddy (Reg) (Rick’s)
2.00% Vanilla Bean Ice Cream (TPA)
3.00% Vanilla Custard (CAP)

Flavor total: 13%
Remember to rate it at: http://tjek.nu/r/raPt

Which used to include English Toffee by TPA but I took it out later, and I’m also changing the VBIC to either liquid barn or FA Vanilla Ice Cream depending on which steeps out better and I am going to try adding WF croissant in too because to me it has more butter than the golden butter and I did order some new toffees as well. Always playing around with my custard recipe.

Ahhhhh. You did try ice cream… or rather used it, before! So… My thoughts were in the ballpark of what could go in a custard! I’m cool with that! Creme Brulé would work too… right? bring that thick eggy feel and the carmalized top… ooohhhh. nummy. I keep forgetting to buy that flavor!
I like LB Ice Cream! But, admittedly, I havent tried many ice creams.
I’m gonna try your old recipe cause it sounds great!

I really do like that one … but yeah if I could find my eggy flavor I’d be a happy camper at least until I find something else that I want in a mix I can’t find LOL hmmm I don’t actually have a Creme Brulee (dang it another thing missing my insane flavor stash) INW Creme Brulee in the notes here says burnt sugar and eggy… another thing to try I guess.

It’s the one flavor that I consistently forget to buy., and I forgot it again this week… in 4 separate orders I placed. There’s a recipe I want to try that I watched them mix on Developed when the flavor ban first came down and I keep forgetting it. I think they were wanting it for the egginess and caramelized brown sugar… I hope to remember to order it next time! :joy:

Was it on their custards show? I’d like to see what they did LOL

These are some of their notes on eggy custard
"VT Warm Custard Eggy, sour and thin. A little bitterness, kind of “flat”. No richness or thickness 3-4%

DV Crème Anglaise Looser than a custard, light and eggy 5-10%

Then you go to the notes here and they say it’s not eggy LOL

It was gone all of a sudden and “Post removed by author” was in it’s place. I see it’s back now so it’s all evidently okay. I worry about offending or talking too much… and the server for the Forum just gave me a message that I need to basically be quiet and let other people talk, even invite them over. I decided I was going to reply and hope they understand because I started this particular part of the conversation and then you ask me something and I need to explain what I was talking about. I didn’t know that we’re not supposed to ask questions in I thread that we came to to ask questions in. Oops! thank you for all of the help all of you have given me on this subject I have learned a lot and I’m very grateful.

must have been a live show that they didn’t upload? I never stop talking so you’re not talking too much for me. LOL I have been told to let some other people answer here too but it’s a bot thing, I think the bot should be spanked for that!

see I don’t know cuz I keep getting confused about how the different types of channels that they have work. some are titled noted and I believe some are called developed? and then there is a live mixing bet they do were they say well I want this but I don’t want it to do that and then they throw ideas around. it may have been when they were trying to make an eggnog or something around the holidays? I can’t even find the things I want to look at that I heard them talking about. I know they had a toffee custard episode that was not the same thing as there custard noted. I have not seen the custard noted one yet. but the idea behind it was they were trying to help Emily regain her faith in DIY. it may have been on that one. the recipe itself is easy to find but it’s very recent. and it even quotes in the description of the recipe that it was the help Emily. I think I might finally have all of the ingredients to make it but I don’t want to start celebrating until I’ve actually mixed it because toffee is my favorite and vanilla custard is second only to toffee… but the 2 together? working? It’s too good an idea to be true!

They do have a lot of shows and notes. DIYorDieVaping has most of the notes for those shows? Not sure if that would help or not? I can’t wait to hear what you think of the recipe, so definitely come back and let me know after you mixed it. I love toffee and custard too!

I have and yes it’s a good custard (I don’t know why I actually ordered two bottles instead of one) so is cap custard, but none of them gave me the strong egg I wanted LOL

I’m still stuck on that i just don’t know what to do to get that egg profile in the custard

Flavour art do a cooked egg yolk flavour from their kitchen site.
I’ve never tried it and tbh i wouldn’t want any hint of egg in my custard vapes.

I think @woftam said that was more like scrambled eggs, could have been someone else though?
