@muth I’ve ordered from FlavorArt Italy a few times, and if I remember, I was limited to the smaller bottles, but the pricing/shipping wasn’t terrible. Didn’t take too long. I needed to get a handful of the premium custard, milk, and butter.
Thx. How are you liking the Burro?
Ironically the shipping from the UK was comparable to what I spend on shipping inside the US. I thought it would be much more.
I’ve done a side by side test of the TPA VCII and FA Custard Premium both at 2.5% @fidalgo_vapes.
Thought this was as good a place as any to share my thoughts, this being a custard thread.
While I would say they are similar, some slight differences that I pick up straight away. I’ll see how they develop but this is my first impression, I suppose a comparison.
VCII - sweeter, milky, very slight hint of nutmeg. Similar to the carton of custard from the supermarket I don’t know if you have them there.
PC - more butter, a bit thicker, still sweet but not as much Sucralose (I’m guessing), no spice note. More like a baked custard, but not quite if that makes sense.
Here’s to hope I wasn’t too greedy when adding all three custards together.
I appreciate this a lot…There are some people saying you can sub these 2 custards 1 to 1 …With what your experiencing i would say they are too different to sub in a recipe … In my opinion im glad that they are different because if they werent there would be NO reason to order the TPA 2 …So thnk you very much , and yes it did make a lot of sense
I had heard that too, that’s part of the reason I was so keen to test, I don’t think there’d be many flavours that would be an exact 1:1 sub in my option.
I’ll test those mixes from Thursday tomorrow, that’ll give the biscuit 3 days to settle.
I’m glad it made sense to you, I never really take notes, happy to share what I found.
You just want a reason, aint you?
But seriously, if a store ever sell it here, I’ll pick it up too.
@marsh8 i don’t have honeycomb, do you think marshmellow would work? I dunno but gonna try anyway! Lol
Also, weirdly i’m generally not able to taste very much unless i get to around 20% flavouring, thats why i always look for a custard as i find they have a stronger taste which is why i need a bad mother custard! Have i been doing something wrong or do i need to scrape my tongue, oo err.
I’ve never really been a big fan of marshmallow and don’t use it often. The honeycomb adds a different sort of sweetness. Think about brown sugar compared to white sugar both sweet but different, if that makes sense. I’m not saying the marshmallow won’t work for you, just not my style.
I never pay attention to the total % when creating a recipe anymore. Only where I want to use each individual flavour to get the balance I’m seeking. Although it was something that I looked at in the beginning,
"Very similar in the mix, no nutmeg that i picked up in the sf comes through on the vc2.
I want to say that the strawberry comes through more on the vc2 version and the biscuit on the cust prem…not sure if its my imagination though. " This is what I thought yesterday.
And today, not much has changed but I can tell the vc2 is milkyer/thinner at this stage. Not a bad thing each will have their own uses in my opinion, if my imagination isn’t running wild. The difference where fruit and the bakery sit in the mix might be useful but like I said I’m not sure on this???
Looks like you gave me a reason to buy it…If its different than in willing , ifnit was a 1 to 1 flave to Premium I would have past on it Thank you
@authormichellehughes Was just on flavour art uk food flavours 50ml of
Custard Premium £12 and 100ml £20.
Also i found cooked egg yoke i know its a food flavour but so is Custard Premium
Tonights BMC recipe tryout is -
Custard Premium (FA) 2.5%
Bavarian Cream (TFA) 2.0%
Butter Cream (CAP) 1.0%
Biscuit (INW) 1.0%
Graham Cracker (TFA) 0.5%
Mixed up at 80/20
It really is quite good tbh, i think it needs to be thicker though, but i mean more of a mouth feel thing, might mellow after a day or so but i’m gonna have to make more cos this is proper nice!
Try adding custard INW to it that works wonders with custard premium
Thats on order 2 mins ago, what i was thinking too.
DO NOT VAPE THAT. Not because it is a kitchen flavour but because it is horrid
Hey Pete. I actually did a mix with custard premium FA INW custard, eggnog and vanilla pudding earlier today … waiting for it to steep.
