I have recently experienced an issue with my Smok Alien 220W as it now reads Low Ohm on all of my RDAs or tanks I put on it. They all read at 0.00 Ohms and will not work/fire anymore. Has anyone else experienced this issue and do you think this update could help fix the issue? I apologize for the questions but I am not ready to throw it away just yet. Hell, I only used it for about 2 months.
update could help. Also make sure that you don’t have ejuice on your 510 connector.
Also, there is a 6 month warranty on the Alien. So I wouldn’t recommend throwing it away even if it is broken.
Thank you for your reply
I know that prior to doing the update the ohms on my alien had started jumping all over the place but I didn’t get any low ohms warnings. The update has fixed this (touching wood)
Sweet @Kracker glad you like the update, it’s definitely the best one yet? Now the TPD is up I think Smok are getting back to the technical stuff
Hey there @Mourning_Glory @Jooshwa and @Lolly gave some good advice, don’t give up on your Alien An update will not hurt and may fix it, if not warranty, and if so be quick, Smok say 6 months although in reality it’s 3, I’m sure you can revive it though.
I’ve got a Goon 1.5 on mine at the moment and I been dripping a bit much to say the least my 510 is covered in juice and it’s still firing, so could be faulty, so don’t hang about if this update don’t fix it, send it back and get a replacement.
Wish you all the best.
Shane
Doesn’t seem to be any updates for Alien 220 anymore.
Hi @Cooter1
I had a look when your mail came through and it looks like they have taken them down for some reason, I would have sent you mine although I always delete them when I’m done. Maybe someone else keeps the firmware after an update and can upload it for you… Or I found this blog and all links seem to be active and from Smok US???
Here you go

All the best
Shane
Looks like they updated their site, here’s the upgrade page direct from smok…

Excellent. Thank you. My mod has V.1.2.1
I have the A version but I don’t know what AL85 is. Says it’s not for that. I don’t want to brick my mod. Any ideas?
Also, this is the upgrading tool, don’t you need the firmware as well to use with the tool, or is this all in one?
Hello @Cooter1
The A version will show your firmware as V1.X.X.
The AL85 is a different mod, the direct link for the A version of the Alien mod is here ( https://odhk2xgq4.qnssl.com/file/1494321024569q88mi4smm2knne1ihiuex9a4i.zip )…
Probably advisable to see the full post though, this has all the instructions, like holding down the firebar and stuff…

The firmware and the tool should be in the same download.
Hi,I got a smok alien yesterday and am hugely impressed over the performance of my innokin coolfire 4 tc.I`ve seen that you can update the firmware and mine has 1.2.1,Can you go to the latest update(1.3.2),or do you have to do 1.2.11 first?
Thanks.
Mike
Hey Mike
You can go straight to the latest
Shane
Great, thanks for the lightening fast reply
On a side note,I have a g4 tank that leaks like crazy, any advice?
Hi Mike
Your welcome, if your talking about the Smok G4 TF-RTA then yep I’ve got one of them with the G4 Deck, the G2 Deck https://m.gearbest.com/accessories/pp_351866.html and the G1 https://m.gearbest.com/g1-deck-_gear/
Which are well worth picking up, each for their own advantages and GB have got them on flash sales, hence the links.
I find if you lay your cotton just over the juice holes instead of stuffing it down them, it’s works great, just remember to close your juice flow control when you re-fill.
Hope that helps.
Shane
Yep theyre the ones. Thanks for the advice.I am in the UK, and due to recent laws, shops can only sell 2ml tanks,so these are going on ebay for next to nothing,Got 2 g4 tanks for £20,but I
ve bought g2 decks for them that dont leak
Lol that’s cool there definitely are some bargains about post TPD. I’m in the UK too and I picked mine up the day before the TPD (g4 tank) hit for a fiver and I’m well pleased with it, paid about 11 quid for both the G2 and G1 together, who said the TPD hasn’t done anything for us
Here’s a great video that shows the wicking on the G4 just at the top of the channels.
I followed these same steps but kept encountering a problem. I get an error message “invalid chip ID”
My mod is authenticated by Smoktech.
after searching I have found a way to resolve it. I am writing this for anyone who is facing a similar issue.
The main problem is the NuMicro ISP tool. You will need to download a different tool. However, you will still use the same .hex file.

I had this problem too, tried to update from v1.2.1 to v1.2.11 (on a unit purchased April 2017, authenticated and from Feb 2017 batch), searched all over the internet, finally found something that worked. Had to download a different NuMicro program and just use the same .hex file from Smok.
Found the link to download it here: http://blog.3fvape.com/mod-apv/guidance-of-smok-x-cube-ii-firmware-upgrade/#comment-401
the actual link to download the tool is: http://7xjcc4.com2.z0.glb.qiniucdn.com/device/ISPTool.zip
Downloaded this tool, it connected no problem, had it updated in minutes (after 3 hours of internet research)
I followed these steps and it worked. Good luck
