If I were to build a Honey Bun recipe, I would start here and add or subtract %s and flavors as needed. This should give you a decent base to work with.

Frosting (Flavorah)
This is the outermost layer of the honey bun. It will add the sweetness and glaze effect found on most HBs. IMO the best icing/frosting/glazed base to start with. You can tweak/bend this later if your v1 doesn’t have the sweetness or body you desire.

Glazed Doughnut (Cap)
Some people don’t care for this flavor, but for me this has a great yeast type flavor found in a lot of fried dough. When used above 2% it does get a bit unpleasant IMO. My other alternative is Zepolla FA.

Butter (FA)
Actually this might not be needed, but it will add a very slight buttery or greasy aspect that I do find in some HBs.

Pound Cake (Flavorah)
I like mixing this with doughnuts or pastries to lighten the heavy feel I get from some doughnut type flavors. It also adds a browned edge to cooked dough flavors when used above 1%. Some people use Pie Crust TPA or Apple Pie FA to achieve browned edges also.

Rich Cinnamon (Flavorah)
This flavor doesn’t need an explanation.

I do have the elephant ear by RFSC and have never used it … Zeppola has an off note for me (nothing surprising there LOL) I LOVE the idea of yellow cake and ooo glazed donut together btw. I think the flv frosting and ooo powdered sugar sounds great (ordering both) Throwing this out there what about that honeycomb VTA I know it’s not supposed to be actually honey but it’s supposed to have some honey it it?

Love this Pro, is there any sub for the FA butter? I really don’t want to have to wait another 10 days to order that from Chefs? Have you tried WF croissant? That to me is buttery as sin? Ordered the frosting so I’ll be waiting on that to arrive I have glazed doughnut, pound cake.

And yes Smoky is right here the ones I’ve tried in the past were almost stale lol like an almost dry cake because I can’t figure out how else to describe it, the sweetness is in whatever sugary glaze they are using on it … I swear I don’t remember cinnamon in these things at all … I bought one for my emergency sugar low when it comes but my daughter who is eating one right now said it’s a sweet bread with sugary crap on top of it

Golden Butter Cap, but it my no longer be available.

I tried it a couple times, but I never really dialed it in so I can’t really comment. But if it’s a flavor that you enjoy, then I say try it.

I have never used FA Butter at any % without that ‘smells like pee’ cloud thing. Do you get it?

I’m really shooting in the dark here because I have little experience compared to the two of you but the enhancers I posted by Karebear might help:
Acetyl Pyrazine - Sold by tpa. Used in cigarettes and cookies to impart a
“toasty” taste. Gives your juice a baked, toasted, or crispy note at 0.5%. At 1%,
it adds the taste of toasted mixed nuts. At 2% it adds a taste similar to Fritos

Trimethyl Pyrazine - Sold by tpa. nearly identical to acetyl pyrazine
