Wait till you crack that TFA jackfruit open, if you have the black vine concentrate smell that first, then close it & crack the jackfruit, i swear it just stinks of jackfruit & dragonfruit to me, so much so that if i was given this eliquid without a flavour description & asked to analyze it, i wouldnt have even said blackcurrant at all, i would have gone jackfruit, dragonfruit, passionfruit & forest fruit, in that order. I dont think i would have guessed there was blackcurrant or grape in it if i wasnt told it was blackcurrant? & the longer it sits i think the more “tropical” its becoming.
I think i need to dig out the dual coil cap for one of my Nitrous’s & put some power through this eliquid, see what comes out at 100+w? Because 40-60w single coil its mainly a tropical dragonfruit fest in the Nitrous & Hadaly
. Really nice eliquid nevertheless

I mixed 60 mil of the OG when I first got it, so been steepiing for nearly 2 weeks and it’s delicious. The almost powdered sugar effect from (tpa) “super sweetener” is more apparent and yes, the tropicals seem to have come out more. I’ll try it with a lower resistance coil than I normally use and wack the power up as well and compare.
This is what I’ve just mixed, with (wf) “jackfruit” until I restock the (tpa). I can tell it’s the wrong “jf” straight away but will have to do at moment. I’ll see how it tastes tomorrow and adjust.
It’s more like v20.
Thanks mate, those comparisons are super useful. I’ve only tried TPA Raspberry and think it’s an amazing flavour, just benefits greatly from a one week steep. I saw the TPA Raspberry Sweet is more popular in recipes and was wondering whether it’s worth trying but based off what you’ve said I’ll just give it a miss.
I might order some FA Raspberry and see how it goes. How would you compare it to TPA?
i know the one, im probably way past v20 by now if i include slight variations too
.
Its really not far off though tbh, pretty much every variation i have mixed has had some real strong similarities to the black vine & imo pretty much any of the variations posted in this thread could be a viable remix/substitute for the black vine, the one i made with purilum dragonfruit + nomz passion was really nice too, purilum dragonfruit is an awesome flavour though, its like tfa dragonfruit + jackfruit mixed, i think thats why the version with PUR dragonfruit tasted so similar to the original
. Its such a shame nomz discontinued it because it really is a nice dragonfruit & i only have about 20ml left now

FA is everything that TFA is missing is the best way i could put it, its a bit similar but its a more “natural” raspberry, it helps push TFA more toward a more natural raspberry & fills it out nicely, those 2 raspberries together + a touch of INW raspberry make a fantastic “full” raspberry.
These 3 together make my all time favourite raspberry combo & i have quite a few raspberries -
& that doesnt include the ones with “raz” in their names
But out of all those raspberries i have tried (& in many many different combinations) those 3 are the ones id recommend most. Just by adjusting %'s of each up/down, you can use those 3 for pretty much any type of raspberry recipe, you want more candied? Lower FA, increase TFA, more natural the opposite, or like i did in that recipe, equal parts for an “inbetween” raspberry, the INW is always under 1% though, its just a top note booster.
Yes! that’s what I get aswell, though I wouldn’t of been able to pick out the individuals and would of used tropical as an umbrella term, and you sort of have to search for FF and I got that before I ever really got a BC or grape to the point that when I sniffed FF and the OG, I thought it matched better than straight BC, but then I put that down to the fact that I am smelling a mixture of fruits already mixed. The grape was always a mystery to me, to the point that I had wondered why it was included in the flavour description for the juice and not just left as a mystery under “Mixed Fruits”, my only theory was to appeal to any grape lovers to get them in the door to try it. idk, but then I guess the dark fruit could be described as grape like.
Yes, definitely try this at that because for me at least the tropicals take more of a back seat and comes across as more of a non-descript twang and I get this dark fruit syrupyness, is the best way I can decribe it and may well not be correct and not your experience of it, but it felt like it was more than just the BC+FF, which i why I started pigging around with adding things like Bilberry/blueberry jam/blackberry/Harvest berry ect. but, again, this may well not be your assessment of it. Would be very interested in your opinions on that. as you know I vape this at 100w on 6 wrap Dual coil fraliens 2x28/6x0.3-36g and sometimes get a real good rip and a right mouthful lol
If I was vaping this on dual 2x28/4x0.3 I would do 80-85w on 5 turns and 90w on 6 turns.
The other thing about the grape is I had began to think that no grape was added at all, but I kept coming back to that YouTube comment Jay left, but had concluded that if I’d could taste that I had added grape then it was either too much or not the right grape, but what complicated that is you demonstrated that other flavours can mask an obvious grape flavour even at percentages that I previously thought impossible.
I’m sure you have considered this but the OG may be entirely (fa) and (tpa). The V3 I added yesterday is the closest I’ve got so far but I’m thinking if it had (fa) “Df”, (fa) “concord” and (tpa) “jf” it would be even closer and just need percentages changing slightly.
I think your right about it having “jf” in.
I think we can get away with using the (cap) “concord” because the grapes not prominent and unless (fa) “Df” tastes drastically different to (inw) we should be ok with the (inw).
But it’s s very possible the OG uses just the two flavour houses.
Won’t know for sure until I order the other flavours.
Something like this…
Yes, i was thinking the whole recipe could be FA myself tbh, FA blackcurrant, FA concord, FA dragonfruit, FA forest fruit, FA fuji, FA passion.
Depending how the FA dragonfruit + passion work together they could mix to become “jackfruit like” & the TFA jackfruit might not even be needed?
. It does smell & taste like TFA jackfruit though.
Heres one of my latest variations im testing atm & its also really close, it just needs balancing a little better -

FA DF is drastically different imo.
This.
I think I may have to order (fa) “Df” direct from (fa) UK. It’s ok though because there’s quite a few other flavours they have (especially tobacco’s) that I can’t get elsewhere “lemon cake”, “Cornish cream tea” and “buttercream”.
(Nomz) and (alchemists cupboard) haven’t got it . Neither have (dark star).
FA Concord would make more sense to me tbh, not least because of the lack of colour, It’s crystal clear. It’s a funny grape flavouring though, off the knuckle it taste kinda soapy and bitter but it never imparted anything nasty in my mixes and it steeps well, and can see it letting the tropicals become more prominent as well, but you’re gonna need to play with it yourself to see what you think.
Quick question, can I sub FW Pear for FA pear? Mrs has ordered me to get a single coil RTA setup and she likes raspberry flavours, thought I might whip this up for her to try.
OK, so I had to make my first one without FA BC. It almost seems like it’s hardly noticeable just upping the FA FF. I’m also starting to run low on INW DF, so I took this time to lower it and double up the FA DF.
Absolutely👍, although i would bump it to 1.75% - 2% for a similar outcome but i did actually develop the recipe with FA pear, FW was one of the more recent additions. You can also lower the supersweet too, i personally make my own with 0.75% but 1% seems closer to the commercial.
Also, just about to order FA concord & white grapes, FA dragonfruit & FA mangosteen, might even throw FLV dragonfruit in the cart too while im there, lol.
If im honest i have been thinking it was FA grape & not CAP from the time i asked you if any of the grape concentrates were clear (that could have been last year? or not far off
) because thats another thing, when you mix all the concentrates, cap grape + vanilla swirl are the only “coloured” ones, even as little as 0.5% of just one of them, changes the colour of the recipe concentrate just enough to be able to tell that those are not in the original when you hold the 2 side by side. They do, however, provide the right notes where we need them (when the % is balanced properly with the rest of the recipe anyway), so i do think you could achieve whats needed with CAP. The way the stevia in the grape works in the recipe is another thing that made me want to keep it in there because it actually is a really nice flavour.
Anyway, on we go, we will get there

Im actually just realizing, FA dragonfruit cant be in the original black vine, FA didnt release their dragonfruit until around 2020 ish
.
I have ordered FA - mangosteen, conc grape, white grape, CAP dragonfruit though (also a bigger bottle of CAP blackcurrant just because i like it,lol).
I didnt grab the FA dragonfruit because of the release date & the fact that i didnt need anything else from the place that has it in stock.
So far i think a mix of 1% TFA jackfruit, 1.5% FA passion & 0.25% INW cactus has been the closest to tasting like the “tropical” in black vine? (That i have got so far anyway)
Still got lots of testing to do yet though, & im almost out of bottles now too

Me too. I can order from (fa) UK on the 5th. Need to restock some. Now the OG “black vine” has steeped for over 2 weeks the creaminess has increased and I’m getting an almost slight texture, same as I do from Bavarian creams but first recipe with (fa) “Bavarian crea” is 2017 which I think is too late. I think we will be ok using the “vanilla swirl” in the final version though.
I’m disappointed “Df” wasn’t released then, first recipe is 2018 which maybe too late. thought it must be the right one.
The (cap) “Df” is floral and didn’t work for me but it would be good if you try it to definitely rule it out…
I’ll add 1 drop of “cactus” to the mix I did with the “jf” and the 1.5% “Pf” in.
Hopefully you may have a final version by the time I order again.
