The Rochford Project Black Vine clone?

We know that about the coolant but he’s a new mixer. I think it’s really helpful he’s contacted black vine creator (jay) because his response is very helpful. Your right though it possible has got “blackberry” in but as I said it’s like playing the same chord further up the fretboard (1 octave higher) you can achieve the same flavour by using similar flavours and using there interaction. That’s sort of what he says also.
I think @RicklePick-Eddie1z is trying a mix with blackberry back in now that it’s so close to the OG.

Wow! this thread is on :fire:, all I did was release a butterfly and now we have ruddy great storm lol

So it seems we are looking at flavour accords maybe, the description of “A complex mixture of blackcurrant and grape…” it seems needs to be taken literally??

Found it up above, just to bring it back down lol

Thank you to jay for taking the time to comment and showing support, your reputation certainly preceeds you.

Yes, the threads got really busy, as I said the more the merrier.
I’m glad you just showed the above recipe because I couldn’t find it.

Yes, sorry if this sounded like a slight to @0day.rev. I appreciate him coming here to share everything he did.

Your ok mate. I think everyone’s replies and comments are valid . You have got me thinking about doing a mix with the blackberry now the mix is so close

Well, if TPA Blackberry is in this, maybe It seemed too obvious to me because of what I was pairing it with at the time, lord knows i’ve been wrong before, oh boy have I been wrong before!!

So the way I’m taking this is a “Full” blackcurrant may have been created using more than one blackcurrant, just like Eddies recipe, and possibly maybe a Blackberry to fill it in??

I also wondered in the past whether both FA White Grape and FA Grape Concord could of been used to create a full grape, but very low, and in the favour of FA White Grape something like 2:1 or 3:1 ratio, both flavours together totaling no more than 1%

I know too many flavours can muddy a recipe and the grape thing is more than likely not neccesary but I just wanted to put out there that I mentioned in the past that if I rip this stuff really hard and get right mouthfull, I get a very slight soapy taste, not a bad one though, I know Blackberry can have that and so can FA Grape Concord…

I think we have a good bunch here and it’s more than likely that if something comes across as out of sorts, it’ll be because text can lack the context and the friendly intent because we are not face to face etc.

Ahh gotcha. Maybe his meaning was a mixture of different things coming together to make a blackcurrant flavour then? Not sure, total shot in the dark really. Like @RicklePick-Eddie1z stated, could just be to mess with us or throw us off a little haha, who knows really.

I know I’ve got no place saying this, having essentially no experience even DIY mixing let alone cloning, but I reckon that it’s not really set in stone HOW you get to the intended flavour, and there are likely many different ways that you can get to a flavour that tastes literally 100% the same, even with completelt different ingredients, main thing being that it DOES get to the intended flavour regardless. Not sure if that’s even remotely correct or not, but I would imagine that it is, no? There has to be equivalent flavours that equal theirs even if they are different than what’s in use by them… But also, taste is subjective too :man_shrugging:

Yes, you’ve got it. That’s exactly what we’re saying. You can achieve the same goal in more than one way.

Completely fine mate, just shared your view on what jay said too. Even if not helpful at all I would have shared anyway haha even if just for the fact that he still comes on here.

Gotcha yeah I thought that’d be the case, hoping it comes in the mail tomorrow lol eager to give it a taste

-Update
Prayers have been answered, it is indeed being delivered tomorrow morning

This is exactly what Jay meant with that comment. You’re spot on. These flavours are just little bottles filled with a mixture of molecules. You will find the same molecules in multiple flavours, just a different amount of them, or they’re mixed with different molecules. But we are just making molecule soup here really. Doesn’t matter where the molecules come from.

Do you have all the ingredients (or any of them) for the remix?

No mate I don’t have any of the required ingredients to make the clone yet, just waiting to get paid at the moment, in between moving houses so somewhat short of funds. But I will as soon as possible and will reply when I do get to ordering.

For experimental purposes I’ve mixed the below recipe using the 4 flavours from the recipe @RicklePick-Eddie1z found. I wanted to try with the “Df” a little higher to compare to og.
Need to let it steep a little as the flavours are very bright at the moment.

Literally just got it right now. Haven’t mixed it up yet - just wondering what the optimal % is to mix at, 20?

First impressions based on experience unpacking and smelling both liquids, love the letter that came with it, already knew these flavours were gonna be bomb, but this feels really special. Concentrate bottles are glass, making it feel even more premium, there’s even a plastic stopper/lid wedged in the bottle too.

Based on smell, they both smell incredible - raspberry milk smells exactly as described and cant wait to try that! But that black vine smells absolutely incredible and way better than I was even expecting…

Mix at 20%, it already contains sweetener. just add it to the calculator, add the other values and away you go.

Alright no worries. I think I might make a batch with ws-23 and one without, just to add that ice/menthol kick that I love.

Lemon lush is supposed to be another good one.
