LOL, what ?? !!!
I was given this on VHS when I bought a TV from Radio Shack probably around 1993. From what I remember, the video quality was much better than this, but hey…it was made 30 years ago so who knows.
They produced a second one a couple years later -
Some people shouldn’t get an internet connection… reminds me of the ad where this woman was cleaning her kitchen with a chicken breast or something… the point was if you’re using sponges you just distribute the germs instead of removing them.
Yeah let’s give some raw chicken to the kids to play with.
Wow. Mesmerizing!
Don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like that. Interesting find.
One of my favorite moments in TV award show history. Ricky Gervais blasting Hollywood on his way out of hosting the Golden Globes. Ballsy and brilliant!
“If you do win an award tonight, don’t use it as a platform to make a political speech. You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world…” xD
That…is SO COOL!
Oh man, that was fantastic!
A (very) long time ago when I was at school, I used to be able to recite this one off by heart. Sad I know but you can blame my English teacher for that
I love JH.
John Hurt was an absolute legend!
I chose this poem for my first recitation in Public Speaking class. Figured if I can get through this without feeling like an ant under a microscope… long story short - it worked. My horror in speaking in front of people disappeared like magic after that.
My vote goes to Olivander
Just a little mind-blown. Something to make you go “hmmm”. We’ve talked about creating a Vape e-Juice DIY “Color Wheel” a way to link flavor mixability and turn it into a visual DIY Mixing aid. With the thousands of flavors it becomes incredibly (too!) complex. After watching this video it became clear to me how such a tool is limited by language/linguistics.
A working “Flavor Wheel” would require agreeable/memorable/meaningful descriptions in order to communicate it’s function/purpose. It would use words to delineate perception/taste to create a machine tool.
You don’t need to watch this whole video to get the idea that each person’s understanding (of everything!) is limited by the words they know …and that vocabulary is not universal. If we did have a color/flavor wheel we would need to first collect a whole new vocabulary, and anyone using the tool would need to learn a list of Culinary-based terms related to how we described “taste”. Look around …we already do this (“Tasting Notes”) hmmm Culinary Linguistics is already Googleable. E-Liquid-Recipes Linguistics? …it’s now a thing~! Step One in any Color (Flavor!) Wheel
