I’ve been dying to grab VSO cake as soon as I could but my dog was very I’ll last week so we have 2 ER trips and a trip to a hospital…needless to say VSO cake won’t be in my immediate future, but have you had Simply Cake-Purilum? If so, how does it compare in your opinion? I love Simply cake, but I’m also looking to add a neutral cake base to cake batter.

Sorry to hear about your dog and hope he’s (or she’s) O.K. @Lynda_Marie I actually do have PUR Simply Cake, BUT, I haven’t solo’d it.

I would def. recommend it @Lynda_Marie. At my testing weight it was lighter, but still very present, and was actually a very “clean” cake, which was also very neutral, which would allow you to use it to cake up pretty much about anything you needed to.

Right there with you. Think I poisoned my dog with weed & feed. Paw licking. She is fine now but my wallet doesn’t pull down on pants now. $408.00. Stupid me.

I haven’t gotten to the VSO Cheesecake yet, BUT, after seeing Shane’s post ^^^^, looks like he thought of that @Ken_O_Where. I’m assuming no BA, or Graham, so you can Graham it up however you want. Very nice @VSOflavors.

Luckily for me, I ordered the VSO Graham Cracker ALSO !!!

We live and learn. I’m glad she’s ok. It’s been a stressful week all around I guess. Here’s to a better next week :grinning:

Caramel (VSO) 3.5% / 5.0% (5-28-22) – You may THINK you know what Caramel is, but you might be wrong. Good thing is that Shane knows what a Caramel is, and that is EXACTLY what you get with this VSO flavor. I started the test out at 3.5% and it was good, but it felt a little thin. I could tell by the smell and taste is WAS a kickin’ Caramel, so I upped it to approx. 5%, and WOW, it took on a NEW form. Many people expect there to be heavy butter undertones in Caramel, but typically it is just Caramelized Sugar, that’s it. Wow, because this one is hard to put down long enough to write a review of it. Ultra clean, and accurate were two things that persisted throughout this entire review. The higher percentage (and you might be able to smidge it up even higher if needed), really worked here, and truly opened up this flavor. Because of the lack of heavier buttery notes, the flavor was still relaxed, but it almost had a richness to it anyway. Above mid-level sweet by a few ticks, and truly enveloped you in a Caramel experience. Not a burnt sugar, but just darkened a bit to give it a darker overall taste, with no bitterness, or off-notes. If you are in need of a super clean Caramel, this one should do it for you. Don’t be afraid to push this one a bit, because you’ll be glad you did. Another tester finisher here people, and leaving it deliciously @ 9.8/10.

@SessionDrummer when you flavor test do you have a bunch of RDAs with new cotton in them? That’s what I think I find why I don’t do it that much especially with tanks the majority of my use of vaping I don’t want to waste a premade coil.
That vandy vape pulse has a rebuildable it came with two nickel coils I tried it but it was really hot and burned right up I’m no good with RDA

@D-a-M-o-N pushing through a LOT of flavors (and that’s what I do), can be a LOT of work, AND, a lot of time, and money as well. Luckily for me, I stumbled across the SteamCrave RDTA v.1 way back in the day, and found it to be a flavor chucker that very few have surpassed. I ran the stock deck for awhile with the 3 screws, and horizontal coils, but then tried out the Velocity deck, with vertical coils, and I never looked back. Unless stated (rarely), I do ALL of my critical testing using the above mentioned setup, running dual Kanthal 24ga. single wire, 7 wrap coils. Dry burned coils and fresh cotton before EVERY test. Once you start doing it, it becomes second nature, and I’m VERY fast at cotton changes. The dual 7 wraps always come out to about 0.30 ohms, and I typically run in the 60-75w range.

Cotton in, test, cotton out, rinse, and repeat…

Thank you for that very thorough .
lm guessing why ppl chose you to test in the first place.
Unless you have infinite amounts of money… premade coils are not the way …The way you feel about that I feel about the crown III. I’ve never gotten a better flavor from the crown 3 tank with the 0.4 Ω A1 KANTHAL COIL. It’s almost like a double wrap or a claptonized wire it looks like a spring and it’s fuse to a regular wire top and bottom. Crazy how the same juice can taste completely different in a slightly different setup even if they’re similar.
And then even the mod like the chip to make the flavored taste different there’s so much to learn. vaping really is a lifestyle!
although I don’t use anymore I use the mesh because it lasts about 3 months but the flavor was unbeatable in my eyes luckily the crown 5 is almost the same im def all 'bout UWELL.
Thank you good sir! for the info and all your hard work around here

I’m sorry @D-a-M-o-N, I tagged @D.Sims mistakenly. You’re welcome. Using pre-mades for SFT would get VERY expensive. Thank you again, and you ARE welcome Sir.

Cheesecake (VSO) 3% (5-28-22) – Only for @Ken_O_Where do I do this. We ALL know the real DANGERS when using Cheesecakes, as there have been a few that made me throw the tester across the room, screaming, “No” !!!. Luckily, hehe, this was NOT one of them. As Shane already mentioned, there is NO GRAHAM in this Cheesecake, SO, you are free to add it at will, AND, at the rate YOU want. I love that, because no MFG ever gets it right. Creamy cheesecake goodness here folks, and with no socks anywhere. No BA (Butyric Acid), no puke, no curdled milk, or sourness. It’s a Cheesecake Lover’s Party, ALL day long. At 3% it was nicely full, present, and believable, with an astonishing amount of creamy richness that I hadn’t expected. Clean, natural, and (repeating), convincingly real taste. I am always hesitant when tossing a new Cheesecake into the tester, as some were just God awful, but this one really showed how RIGHT you could make one. No coconut notes, no crust, just a bold, rich, creamy cheesecake that you could crust up, and add toppings to, and call it a day. If you are a “sour” cheesecaker, this one may not be for you, but for the rest of us, this’ll work. I couldn’t find anything to nit-pick with this one, and I WAS looking. I could almost get the crumbly feel that you get when you cut into a well made Cheesecake, but only almost. Very nicely done by Shane, very nicely indeed, and as a blank canvas Cheesecake i.e. no crust, or topping flavor notes, you could go crazy with this one. Felt great at 3%, and you could probably push it a smidge higher as the main Cheesecake in a mix if you had to. As it stood, I wouldn’t change a thing. 10/10.

Hehe, @D-a-M-o-N, that’s the weird thing, I don’t even know WHY I started testing flavors in the first place. I mean, I know why I started taking notes on them, so I’d know them better, and be better able to mix with them, but as far as the “thing” that these tests have turned into, I have no clue. I just started doing them, and probably like 3 people liked them, so I kept going.

Well I think one of the major things is that you’re super thorough and descriptive it’s almost like I’m tasting the damn thing when I’m reading it! Roll with it free is awesome could turn your hobby into a commission or source of anyway even if it’s just saving money

@D-a-M-o-N you’re very kind, and thank you for that. There are many “reviewers” that go FAR MORE into detail than I do. All orders of different strengths, steep times, possible pairings, etc., but for some reason, I felt, that was just TOO much for the average user. I decided a long time ago, to just simply review it, as I saw it, and that was it. I actually DIDN’T mean for my scoring to really be part of the public reviews, as that/those were supposed to be just for my own database, and how I scored them. I accidentally started leaving them in the reviews, and decided screw it, they’re in there now !!!

I actually got a lot of flack on Reddit FOR my review style, as “they” weren’t used to that style, but were more accustomed to the DEEP DIVE, 7 paragraph review format. Can’t please everyone ehhh ??

Thank you for taking the time to read these reviews @D-a-M-o-N, and giving feedback. Very appreciated, and realizing we ALL taste things differently, and no one should go soley by my reviews before deciding, but I hope they help people out.

Well I was VERY fortunate @D-a-M-o-N, that @SmokyBlue talked to @David_SXmini on my behalf, and showed him some of my reviews, and he decided to send me out those two new v.2 SXmini mods to review. The SL Class v.2 is damn near as perfect as the G Class v.2. They are BOTH, showstoppers.

@D-a-M-o-N Very, very true. I test tanks from time to time, and some which APPEARED to be very similar to a design I like, surprised me when the flavor(s) was/were completely different than expected.
