Since there’s no more VTA and fizzy sherbet is impossible to source (and it’s wildly popular and used in so many recipes out there) I’m looking for ideas on what to replace it with to get as close as possible to the original flavor. What do you suggest?

That Fizzy Sherbet is such a unique flavor that there are no subs.

Fizzy Sherbet is almost like a cross between a light lemon lime soda with lemon sherbet candy with a light fizzy note.
Where as Cap Fizz Pop just creates a feeling of effervescence (fizz) without much flavor. And TPA Sweet and Tart are basically the dry powdered smarties candies, both have a tendency to mute flavors if used too high.
The closest I’ve ever found to Fizzy Sherbet was Sherbet Lemon by Decadent Vapours, it has a similar lemon soda/candy note without the fizz. Though it is rather weak and has to be used around 4% to get any flavor from it.

Lemon Drop (CAP)
To me taste like Perle di Sole Italian Lemon Drops, known for a sweet hard shell and a tart, effervescent citrus core.
Although it brings too much lemonhead type lemon to be a replacement for Fizzy Sherbet, I may try a few mixes with some Lemon Drop low with maybe some lime and a little cream or marshmallow…

Oh ok I dont have Sherb, but it doesn’t sound like sherb to me at all, to me sherb is berry flavors, lemon background. Thanks for the info.
I already have Fizz pop, and Sweet and tart, but you can def use both of these together which I have with a candy recipes.
To me Sweet and Tart is more of a hard candy with sour background.
Pixie Stick Candy (SC) (WF) or Candy Stick Candy (SC) (WF) is more powdered candy to me.

I assume VTA named this after the candy in Australia that we call sherbet. It’s powder that is sweet, fizzy and has citric acid in it. Not the ice cream thing you guys have in the states.

Nomz SC lemon has a really nice effervescent quality when pushed above 3 - 3.5%, but i think it might be a bit too much lemon to be a viable sub or an addition to a recipe to make a viable sub for fizzy sherbet? Its not really an “in your face” lemon but i think its more lemon than whats in fizzy sherbet.
I think if you were to add in some lemon lime or a kind of citrus soda/lemon lime soda or something, then maybe some vanilla swirl to try mute some of the lemon, i think you could make something work but, it will be hard to get something to match VTAs fizzy sherbet though it really is a unique flavour.

Mixed this up today, pretty good off the shake, but seems a little heavier than what I recall. I’m gonna mix up a batch of VTA Fizzy Sherbet at 4% for comparison and go from there…
fizzy sherbet batch 1:
0.50% Fizz Pop (CAP)
1.50% Lemon Drop (CAP)
0.50% Lime (Flavorah)
0.50% Marshmallow (TPA)
0.50% Pineapple (TPA)
0.50% Super Sweet (CAP)
Flavor total: 4%
