Yes Pro Athlete’s should pay tax’s But not Olympic Athletes a lot of the Olympians are college students so it’s not there full time job

US athletes who win medals don’t make as much as some do in other countries but my son went to a very large and well known college (paid through the nose for it too) He had to work the whole time he was in college. My son worked in food service and an athletics program training people how to climb rocks. He had to pay taxes on his earnings. I’m sorry but what your saying isn’t fair to my son who had to pay his taxes and still be stuck with massive student loan debt

I’m not trying to be snarky but wages are wages. Earnings are earnings. I have had clients pay me partially for jobs with Gift Cards they got from employers, barter for services… I had to claim all of it.

And thanks for the blessing most sincerely… the kid worked his tail off kept his grades up, didn’t party and didn’t get a lot of sleep. It’s probably why I don’t have a lot of sympathy for those athletes with taxes.

as long as she is in the olympics representing her country she should be exempt for the olympics only , what she makes during the tennis season and endorsements is another thing
