Apologies if somebody postet this already, I wasn’t following this thread so closely recently.
Hooked after the first 10 minutes.
I never watched much anime as a kid growing up compared to other turbo dorks, I was into web design, unix, music, sci-fi, etc… But Anime was never in my wheelhouse, however, Cowboy Bebop was such an incredible show and I remember really, really enjoying that one. Might have to give it a go.
Behind tonight’s Advent door is everyone’s favourite snowman movie - Jack Frost.
Obviously I’m not going to choose Michael Keaton’s odd Hollywood remake from a year later.
I got a bit behind: Busy times as academia shuts down for the year. So, time for a belated classic.
First, the modern and light trailer:
And a darker original:
To catch up -
5th: Anna and the Apocalypse:
6th: Dial Code Santa Clause:
7th:The Star Wars Holiday Special (I told you some would be dark!)
(The only good thing about it is introducing Boba Fett).
Well, I’ve been a tad busy. I could add one for each day but, I’ll share a modern classic that most (especially Americans) aren’t aware of instead.
Edit: Oh, I should explain why the 24th is being stapled shut on the Advent Calendar. Those of us with Randy Scandy and Germanic heritage celebrate the 24th as Yuletude and ignore the 25th.
Well, as it is my birthday (the Koreans and Chinese are celebrating the start of another decade and I insist it is the last year of one). As such, I get the ability to dictate the shared resource to reflect on.
I couldn’t think of a finer one than one of Randi’s last rants against the insidious nature of spiritualism and aspirational ministry.
Not exactly Christmassy to most but an annual tradition for my lot.
A Classic movie from my youth
Started binge watching History Channel’s “Vikings” on Amazon Prime.
Great show. Intricate storyline, brutal at times but thankfully not a splatter fest.
I’m into Season 2, TZ. I find it really good, Yeah wifey doesn’t like the brutal parts.
If you haven’t seen this movie, it’s worth watching. I just noticed it was free on YouTube the other day.

Apparently it was a box office flop or whatever. Screening audiences didn’t like it but I thought it was good.
Yeah, I remember it being really flawed and yet…i enjoyed it enough to buy it. I watch it every so often.
Mr.Beast!! Ever seen his videos??
On you tube??
This is his real life squid game! This guy lives to give away $$$ he gave his 40millionth subscriber 40cars he had to give them all away and he got a brand new tesla!
I have almost finished binge watching a show on Netflix called Heart Land. Its so corny, but It’s about a cattle rancher and his family that live in Canada on a very large ranch. I can not believe I’d actually finish it, but it’s pretty light hearted and has a good story line. Then I am on to Dexter New Blood
Watched “TWO” on Prime last weekend.
About a man and a woman who wake up in a bed with their abdomens sewn to each other.
Wasn’t great but had to finish it to see WTF?
Started watching Big Sky. I didn’t even know about this one, but it’s got Kathryn Winnick and if she isn’t a bad-ass viking, then this will do for now. I need my Lagertha fix!
I read she holds a 2nd degree black belt in karate and a 3rd degree black belt in Taekwondo. Lagertha was an amazing character!
