Currently watching Ozark. If you like Breaking Bad, it’s worth watching Ozark as they are similar a bit. Check out this website firestickhow.com/rapid-streamz-on-firestick.html to find the best apps for your streaming device. I managed to jailbreak my Firestick thanks to this website, you can find a step-by-step guide there.
Welcome to the forums.
What can you tell us about Ozark - I have never heard of it before probably as I am not exactly on the cutting edge of pop-culture. I just watched a trailer for it and thought ‘that lady is from Love, Actually and The Exorcism of Emily Rose’.
Last night I also managed to fit in a rewatch of Ghostbusters and, like any other time I watch it, I spot more layers of nuance which makes it even amusing and vastly more inappropriate. Oddly, I was ruminating on how Sigourney Weaver’s performance was like a john Carpenter wet dream, when I noticed one guy who looked a hell of a lot like him in 1984.
Sigourney:
( Peter having a syringe preloaded with sedatives when going to met a woman is obviously not in the slightest bit odd).
Barbara Crampton in Carpenter’s From Beyond:
The Ghostbusters prison scene - the one which contains the whole plot for Afterlife and has a rather suspicious bearded weirdo:
Tonight’s March Madness choice needs to take things up a fair few notches due to the epic nature of some choices and the rising crescendo of the final few days. As such, I will load the Bluest of my Blu-rays. All I need to say is “It’s 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it’s dark… and we’re wearing sunglasses.”
I would always check out a Barbara Crampton flick. Was she ever an official Scream Queen? If not, she should be.
I think she was regarded as the first, especially after getting good head in Re-animator (seems to be the phrase of the day and I can only blame @Josephine_van_Rijn and not John Barrowman:
the first 2 seasons were amazing. The rest gonna watch a bit later
Always glad to be of service.
Yes it is. Who couldn’t love Darlene?
For tonight’s overload of insanity, I will watch The Barbarians. This is not to be confused with similarly titled lesser movies and TV series. Did they clone Arnold, yet again, and give them the personalities of Bill & Ted? Did they rely on the director of Cannibal Holocaust to create a light-hearted sword and sorcery epic? Did they have a cast who all thought they were in different genres of movie? I think not!
This is the greatest live action He-Man action figure tale you’ll see today.
Saw that one years ago. It gave a new meaning to the word SUCK!
It’s definitely no Princess Bride but entertaining if you know what to expect when going in.
So assuming you knew what to expect… WTF (why the fuck) would you even torture yourself and sit through it again? LoL
Most would class such an approach as a guilty pleasure, though as I don’t feel guilt over what brings me joy, I view it as a source of catharsis.
This is stronger when you’re knowingly watching a ‘bad movie’ which was made with the intent to be a serious work: This is why people joyfully turn up to screenings of the The Room and throw spoons at the screen. But, movies like Birdemic 3 are just terrible as they aimed to be bad.
It is a habit which dates back to my university days: when my friends and me would go around the pound shops and see who could find the worst movie for us to watch. I think Red Letter Media’s focus on After Last Season show how much joy can be derived from utter rubbish:
A man is captured by a family of feral, wood-dwelling cannibals who want to make him one of their tribe. Male Nudity, Cannibalism & Torture.
You would like this as well then! Except there’s no nude dudes that I can recall. It was pretty fucking brutal though. Gotta love Eli Roth.
I’ve downloaded it and I think it may be a suitable finale for March of Madness.
The only concerns I have going in, after watching the trailer, is that it may have too much of the annoying eco-tourist and American abroad tropes seen in films like the Hostel series and The Ruins. Particularly as Eli can be a bit of a hit and miss on these themes:
