Great minds think alike. Watching the original broadcast of those movies left me wanting. So much so that I wouldn’t think of giving the chance to disappoint me again.
After going through the bait and switch of Doctor Strange 2 - I lost all hope in this phase of Marvel:
It just left me hollow, lacking any engagement in the plot and, a distain for the characterisation.
It’s an odd year when I need less than one hand to count what I am eager to see - These two scream at me as the mainstream ones.
An involuntary vision of this has beset my brain. Psycho-trauma has begun.
Love the John Wick franchise. Chapter 4 looking good!
The sequels did get a tad silly at times (The desert trek in 3 was just odd) but it is getting solid reviews as a throwback action movie: Something which is sadly a rarity and makes me want to see it in a cinema (something I rarely do).
If we ponder it: None would struggle to name an action star in the 80s, 90s or 00s but, naming one who isn’t neutered now is a challenge.
Just imagine yourself with a tad less grey and that may deflect it.
That’s the cure right there for all evils. And hindsight shows she was a bit freaky, wearing a locket of blood, etc. Yup, ain’t nothing wrong with that at all.
Ya do know that’s what blue tarps were invented for. Lime Jelly or a thin layer of crisco oil for adult twister
Most games tend to lead to a mutual exchange of genetic material: A fun way to keep the species going!
I was just asked to review At Eternity’s Gate, mostly as I am one with a few decades of oil painting experience and being a tad mad.
Sadly, I had to decline: as being brilliant while troubled is never rewarded - It is not a toy to parade.
bwahahaha!
I’m enjoying a Mike and Jay horror trivia quiz. It’s always fun to see them playing off each other. I am expecting Mike to find a way to worm-in a Star Trek casting reference at some point.
Tonight’s movie will be Annabelle Comes Home:
Not a personal choice - I was badgered into it. After watching the first two and seeing how much they stretched the truth (to the degree that the Fargo ‘Based on a true story’ is more believable by many degrees) made me disinterested in a lazy series.
Frankly, if they just relied on the SPR files (The Enfield case in the second one has extensive records), there would have been a fantastic psychological horror. I must admit that I do love their records and I’d be overjoyed if someone made a Gef the Talking Mongoose series based on all they recorded: I personally class it as the Manx Skinwalker Ranch.
Well, I gave Annabelle Comes Home 42 minutes before checking out. It was badly written and annoyingly disjointed.
The only positive I found in it was showing the simple loving marriage of the Warrens. It was pleasant that they didn’t add piles of conflict between them.
There was also a little detail which may have been a very esoteric Easter egg: There was a CRT TV which looked a lot like Pellegrino Ernetti’s alleged Chronovisor (Chronovision - if farfetched Brighton based surrealism is your spaniel). This was certainly not in their collection at the time, even if we leap to classing it as a real device.
Tonight’s March Madness will be Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey.
It is mad, has rabbit related horror and reminded me to paint a set of Bill and Ted miniatures for a niche game request.
I primed to see if all the mould lines were removed and I have to spend around another 20 minutes to carefully remove a few between the fingers on his left hand. I do find it annoying when a model is sculpted to make the most likely to fail spot the focal point of the miniature.
I missed watching it yesterday, so I’m working while the Horror Awards plays in the background. I wasn’t not surprised that Terrifier 2 and The Menu both dominated the available nominations
It is hard for me to pick between the two as The Menu effectively uses pretension to satirise pretentiousness and Terrifier 2 is just pure visceral dread which wants to play on the expectations of an experienced horror fan, though it in much subtler way than in the Scream movies.
Edit: Noticing that Gilbert Gottfried had parted this mortal coil in the last year was a sad moment: He was always guaranteed to bring levity to any performance he chewed the scenery with. This one being my personal favourite:
Endeavor the british tv-series
Is it any good? I don’t follow TV but the name made me assume it was an Inspector Morse prequel.
Mainly as his first name was only used at the end of the final series:
Oh and welcome to the forums!
