Luckily the three series are available on YouTube. the fact the House of Cards was only the first part - with To Play the King and The Final Cut making the trilogy may confuse Yanks who find a gay man portraying a straight one confusing.
Edit: after many met unhappy accidents Commander Corder was the shining figure through all.
A fun examination of Final Destination which resulted in me investigating the poster for Psycho regarding a bra not matching the one in the movie - yes, I do have a very visual memory.
Another treat appeared in my feed. Luckily The Drinker covered the distinct differences between the international and American cut. The sequel was an epic what the fuck moment for most on this spinning globe who watched the first one. Reviewers, as a community (including myself), were just baffled.
I enjoyed this short series on Prime. Elvisās granddaughter, Riley Keough, plays Daisy.
"Nicks confirmed that sheās watched the series inspired by Fleetwood Macās Rumours era (twice!), and that it āmade me feel like a ghost watching my own story.ā
This was put together very well. I didnāt think I would be so impressed. Apparently, the Academy doesnāt agree with me. Butler does his own singing.
I watched that recently and although Iād read a fair bit about āThe Colonelā over the years which certainly wasnāt complimentary I didnāt realise he was such a terrible person.
If only half of that is true itās probably fair to say he had a good bit to do with the early death of Elvis. Tragedy seems to follow a lot of these megastars.
Glad Iām only a very average Joe who just plods along.
Iād probably have to agree with you on that. I havenāt finished the movie yet but Iām somewhat familiar with the story. He seems to have mercilessly drove Elvis to perform and make money for him. And thank goodness Elvis followed his heart with his music and didnāt listen to that dumb quat of an ass who was clueless.
@Gazza7 I finished the movie. So effing sad. That sob imprisoned Elvis in a gilded cage just so he could gamble free for the rest of his miserable life. He took advantage of an innocent country boy and Elvisās father was no helpful saint either. Thereās a place in Danteās Inferno for people like that.
The whole world knows how much Elvis deteriorated in his later years and it truly is very sad. The power and presence of the man in the 68 special was quite unbelievable but to think that less than a decade later heād be dead and a shadow of his previous self.
Subsequently Iāve read a few articles which seem to indicate the truth of the latter part of his career is somewhat in the middle between the film and real life but even so thatās enough to lead me to believe that Tom Parker certainly contributed to his tragically young death.
When such people are taken so young itās easy to put them on a pedestal but he was a talented force that would never had faded into obscurity.
Contrary to what Iāve stated above I wasnāt a massive Elvis fan but you canāt take away what he brought to the world and I still find it almost criminal how his life ended.
Iām waiting for the other half of season five Yellowstone, I hope itās better than the first half. I need go get some ideas of what to watch from this thread. Being an equestrian I came across a reality cattle rancher show, the Cowboy way, and halfway through I realized I had ridden with one of the guys. He came to our farm a couple years ago to teach. I thought that was pretty cool. Heās a south Florida Cattle rancher. Booger Brown. Probably dumb to most people, but made me kind of happy.
Yellowstone had a good run. I hope the second half of the current season provides a good ending (first half was a letdown). Mayor of Kingstown is an excellent drama, also by Taylor Sheridan, that you can binge. Hopefully Jeremy Renner will be able to come back to it.
