Is this real? You made it up!

It’s made up. Pontiac had 400’s and 455’s in the 60’s and 70’s. He didn’t make up Pontiac though.

I think my dad had a 442 at one point lol with holes in the floors that you could see the pavement.

The 442 was Oldsmobile. One of my friends spent his last penny to buy a Judge. That car could fly. I think he still has it today. Why GM had different engines in GM products amazes me to this day.

‘67, ‘68, & ‘69…
The Pontiac 428 V8 engine was available in 1967 in two configurations: a standard 360-horsepower version and a high-output “HO” 376-horsepower version, also known as the “Quadra-Power” 428. For 1968 and 1969, these were replaced by standard 375-horsepower and high-output 390-horsepower versions.

I had the ‘69 Bonneville with a 428, the thing was a sled/ rocket! :rocket:
Traded a 1966 Mercury Parklane Breezeway with a blown tranny for it…

It wouldn’t be much machining to bore out a 400 to 428. Chevrolet SS had the stock 350 as standard. My friends brother bored it out to 396. The tires spun so much the only thing that moved was the gas gage. It was a fun cruise when he didn’t get on the pedal.

We had a Firebird convertible with a 326, that’s a real engine which turned into the 350 in following years. I lived in the Bahamas and would drive it at age 13 or 14.

The 442 was an Olds Cutlass. There were 2 different back end body shapes, one being rounded like Chevelles, the other was a ‘Holiday Coupe’ which had a more angular shape.

The judge was a high end Pontiac GTO.

The last Firebird I owned had the (Forgotten) Pontiac 265 CID (4.3L) V8, a ‘80 with t-tops from the EPA era

Those were digusting years :face_vomiting:. Remember the Mustang II. Tiny almost sub-compact that didn’t even resemble a Mustang. My dad had a 69 and (68 or 70) Fastback. Floated the valves in the first. 8 track with like a piano door to hold 4 or 5 extra.

My neighbor has the Mustang parked in the driveway. I asked him what year the Maverick was. The two cars looked so similar. He looked at me like I was crazy and tells me it’s not a Maverick and was a 65 Mustang. I walk by it everyday and it still mistake it for the Maverick.
