Most days here its enough to freeze human skin inn 20 mins outside
On the bright side at -25 C you wonāt get any snow to speak of. It gets -13 F over night much of the winter here. With the Great Lakes here the warmer water than air itās nothing for 6" to 12" of snow to fall at any temperature.
@rcleven I remember the blizzard of 1967. In the south suburbs we got almost 27 inches in less than 24 hours and most of it fell in the first 6-8 hours. Had to spend the night at school because they predicted light flurries and by the time they got the plows out, we were snowed in. Walked home the next day and sometimes walked OVER cars, thinking they were snow drifts. Got home and had to crawl in my second story window because the front, back and service door off the garage and first floor windows were drifted and un-openable. My dad let me in the my second story bedroom window. After warming up for a couple of hours, I grabbed the snow shovel, went back out the door and cleared one door so we could get out in case of fire or emergency. Was a fun time, dragging sleds to stores to get milk, eggs and other essentials for some neighbors. The city was shut down for a few days.
#CatsRule !!!
That was a long time ago. I was in seventh grade. They closed the school early and walked home because nothing was running. Snow up to my chest. Shoveled like crazy clearing snow. Made about $30.00. thought I was rich. Remember life didnāt get back to normal for 3-4 days.
Iāll say. He even has a hyperactive thyroid just like his momma and takes the same medication. In that sense, I wish he wouldnāt empathize so much. I worry about him constantly.
Idk whatās worse face freeze or snowā¦lol, rn it doesnāt affect me Iām still home with a broken leg. I think Iām going to be like this until may at leastā¦minimum. I wish I stayed off the damn thing tooā¦it still looks really bad.
Looks WAAAAAY better than it did. Not a doctor, but it looks like itās healing well. Donāt jump the gun and take of on any sprints.
I havenāt stopped walking/straining it since i got out of the hospital for a week.
Iāve also twisted it since a few
Times. I have anothern x-ray
This week Iāll find out thenā¦
Now thatās an example of lake effect snow. Buffalo NY always gets hit from lake Ontario lake effect with Toronto directly across the lake.
I since moved from Ontario to Alberta but itās.equally as cold n shitty that way here. I want to travel tho I want to go to Drum n Bass (Electronic) festivals in the United States and United Kingdomā¦I need to pay off my āPardonā first 2,600.(I wasnāt a good kid/adult made some really dumb mistakesā¦Itās going to require my damn leg to get better n me back at work. Which I canāt wait for! I need that so bad.
Iām just east of Toronto and we got 53cm/21" of snow, a 1932 record broken. Opening my garage door I was greeted by a drift over 4feet high covering them and down between 2 cars. 2 hours later it was clear.
Hereās outside the front door with the steps half done
And then finished. Shoutout to the wife and kids.
Thatās a shit ton of snow. I feel for the Canadians. We can get hit hard here in the Boston area but itās more of an event than a usual happenstance. Or maybe Iām wrongā¦whatās your average snowfall? I just remember my Canadian friends saying that their winters were longer.
Muth, that would be a metric shit ton Donāt feel for me so quickly. That first 2 hours were work. After the plow came by, it was packed about 3 feet high and back up to my sidewalk. 2 more hours of what I call the motrin pain. Followed by another plow the morning after for 2 more hours cussing the whole time. Each plow visit brings more densely packed snow. Now with the snowbanks about 5 feet out into the black asphalt roadway, that bastard plow will be back again to cut them back and put big ice chunks mixed with that super dense snow.
Where I live now itās not that bad, I might use the blower a half dozen times a year. I used to live in the city of Barrie, half an hour south of @ladycrooks in Orillia, and up there the snowbanks got to be 6-7 feet tall.
It snowed on Sunday morning in Georgia. The snow stuck to the ground for about 3 hours. It was rough but I made it through the day ok. That was a close one.
It looks so much better than when you first posted your injury. WAY better. Remember, recovery is a process that takes time. You must be doing something right because it really looks markedly improved. Keep taking care of yourself and donāt push too hard. Treat yourself kindly.
Oh you little sh*t ā¦you used to live in New England. Iām so mad at youā¦more like jealous
Screw the Motrin. In 2015, Boston broke its previous record with a total snowfall of 110.3 inches. Everyone was getting a new roof and I was looking online for a flamethrower. I seriously suggest you consider one
Idk about Canada but theyāre legal in all states 'cept California.
