That is really freakinā€™ cool!
Iā€™m going to look into that for sure. The problem is that I love making them by hand. I have a Daedalus that works well, but I still like making them the old way. Itā€™s therapeutic.
I definately want one of those that you got though. I love gadgets and toys.

I certainly donā€™t want to stop you enjoying your coil building but since you mentioned arthritis, thought this could be helpful for the painful days.

And I appreciate the thought. Iā€™m gonna get one. I have to

Iā€™ve seen videos on that setup before @Suomynona. How hard is it to use ?? Learning curve ??

I just had to figure out to put some grease on the clamp thatā€™s controlled by the pedal. I lubed it up with some food grade grease I have for my Delonghi coffee maker but I suppose you could use whatever you have. Otherwise, learning curve close to zero.
I did have experience with the beadalons though. If youā€™re using 40g wire or thinner, you donā€™t want it too tight around your spool or the wire breaks. Also try to center the cores in your drill so they donā€™t wobble too much when you spin fast. That clamp from 3dvape makes it really easy though, before I had that I did have some issues now and then but thatā€™s maybe because I have an old and cheap drill.
With the setup I have now, a 3 year old can do this.

Outstanding. I appreciate you taking the time to respond. I think I need to get one now.

No prob. They make really good tools. Just be aware that it takes a while before they deliver and the process felt a little weird and amateurish. Everything is made on demand so it can take a week (or two) before they ship your order but once itā€™s out it goes fast.

I just filled up my car at the astonishingly low price of $4.80 per gallon - I havenā€™t seen prices that low in years! (95 octane)

Has been in the $1.29-ish range around here but has spiked to $1.49 today. But I havenā€™t gotten fuel since March so itā€™s probably going to be back over $2 when I need it again in June.

And itā€™s a vehicle that gets about 9 MPG too. I donā€™t drive muchā€¦ in fact I have to add fuel stabilizer (Sta-Bil) when I get gas to keep it fresh.

We got 1.39 hereā€¦ gassing up tomorrow morningā€¦

If I can resist COVID as long as I could resist buying a Dual Topside, I assume they found a vaccine in the meantime.

But it was time now and the squonker just arrived in the mail today.
