Agree too much of a disparity in volume/weight using the drops method.
I was watching Better off Dead in the background while painting: to aid the digestion of an epic level of engorgement, and this line almost floored me and had to have a short break.
Great movie!
Especially transplanting a SB 400 in place of the 4.3 V6. Bolts right in wit very slight modifications.
Did that back in the 90’s.
Fun times with that thing
I had a friend in college with a Gremlin and he loved it. AMC had some strange designs.
When I was young I remember my grandfather bought nothing but Rambler’s. Years after he died AMC bought Rambler. Iacoca pretty much ran AMC into the ground. The government stepped in during the 80’s recession and kept them alive for until a Icoca lead Chrysler bought them out.Still making quirky vehicles to this day.
Popular Mechanics rated the 4.0L inline six (made in Kenosha) as #1 on their list of the 10 best engines that had stopped being produced in the last 20 years. We had a couple of Cherokees with the 4.0L in them, and my brother had one that had well over 300,000 miles on it. I was working at Chrysler HQ when they pulled the plug on the 4.0L. It was a sad day.
Getting a small gift but one that is very me:
White gel Sakura pens and Blue Stuff. The former will definitely get lots of use as I test their limits and the latter will be put to work making duplicate parts for incomplete old miniatures - as it is a renewable thermoplastic moulding material.
I sold all of my miniature stuff, but sadly I don’t think I’ll have the money to get back into it… Unless I can find a new job, but man did I ever like that hobby.
I have always found it meditative, especially the hobby side. If I am not knackered at the end of the day, then I’ll work on a few to unwind.
I was really a big fan of Hordes and Warmachines minis… Also was a sucker for Battletech but that’s a nostalgic thing for me because it was the first I had played those types of games.
Ah, my first was 2nd edition 40k - so that holds the most nostalgia for me. So much so that I am currently prepping a new army of mk6 marines with no Primaris allowed.
The only reason I got into it was because I made acquaintances with a guy that ran a vapeshop here in town… He’s got a room that’s wall to wall Warhammer… It was my attempt to make a friend here but he turned out to be not to great of a guy, so I got out.
Anyways, he had all the warhammer fantasy stuff… Square bases and everything… Bunch of old stuff in boxes unopened. It was crazy.
Well that does sound mad to have lots of sealed boxes: Most of us just have our pile of shame but take the sprues, casts and metals out of the box.
Yes, there are some odd characters in the community. I’m a very ‘fluffy’ player, so I care about having a good game and doing things in character.
Yeah, they had live sessions on facebook a few years back… He’s in his mid 40s and the other guys from his gaming group are around the same age… They were narrating a story each game and RPing the story, which is not for me, I just liked tossing Dice… Even people in the Battletech Community are like that because of the lore is fairly rich in most of those franchises…
D&D always sounded fun too, got some of the rulebooks myself but not comfortable for the fluff.
Well, with D&D, having a good DM is the key: Even if you don’t know the fluff, they should be able to support what you want your character to do.
When there are new players to any game, being open and welcoming is vital. I have seen people using tournament rules and armies during someone’s first game too many times. I always say, start simple, and always guide.
Actually, now that I think about it… I have an interesting story for you and, I believe @SmilingOgre … Years ago when I first moved here, I had hired a co-worker to help me move some stuff into a new apartment and in return for his work, I gave him a Roland TR-606…
Years later, I found out what it was worth:
Not sure if this is even possible, but with your hobby, can you 3D print items that would meet your needs?!
