Suddenly I have the urge to start pumping quarters into Pole Positionā€¦

OMG, I think I see him/her? Is that one green eye to the left of the hanging throw?

That brought up fond memories of my youth. I use to love the sit-down arcade version of pole-position!!! The stand-up version just doesnā€™t work for me. I can say the same for most PC emulated versions of the classic arcade games.

Thatā€™s him , heā€™s long gone, almost 10 years now, I still miss him.
Still wondering how that eye got green, he had brown eyes

Itā€™s a dog btw, not a cat.

Sorry, I only saw an eye, I think? Good memories. I had a all black boy cat before this one. I miss him dearly. Their just like kids to me.

Iā€™ve been having a hard time getting a driverā€™s license in Georgia, for various reasons, the main one being Covid, of course. Because I havenā€™t had a valid US license in 20 years, I had to go through the entire process. When I passed the written test a few weeks ago, the earliest appointment I could get for the driving test in the Atlanta area was the middle of February. So, I booked an appointment 2 hours south of me and it was today.

My wife was going to come with me but I told her there was no need and she should stay home with the boys. I arrived at 10:30 for my 10:40 appt. and I was told I needed a licensed driver in the car. When I told the woman I didnā€™t have anyone, she was perplexed as to how I got there with my car. It took a couple of tries, but after showing her my UAE license and explaining reciprocity, she said I still needed someone. She then told me that they are not getting into the test takerā€™s cars, but standing outside and directing them around a parking lot. I was a bit annoyed of course because Iā€™m a licensed driver, but rules are rules.

I then went outside and waited. There is a large military base in town. The first guy I spoke with was an active duty SP in the Air Force, but he didnā€™t have any extra time. Then an older gentleman pulled up and he was wearing a Marines sweatshirt. I approached him, introduced myself as ex-Air Force, and explained my dilemma. I offered him $40 to take the test ride with me and he agreed.

We pulled up to the parking lot and a guy came out. He explained that I was being tested on 5 points and I was going to drive around a bunch of cones. He reminded me that even though we were in a parking lot, I had to follow the rules of the road (turn on my blinkers). He then gave me a task to complete while watching me do it. The whole time, me and my new buddy are shooting the shit. He was a long-haul trucker for 26 years and we talked about that mainly. We got along famously.

The final task was parallel parking between a bunch of cones. I asked my friend when was the last time he paralleled parked and he said two days ago. I told him I didnā€™t believe him. I havenā€™t paralleled parked in many years. So, I pull off a perfect 3 point job and put the car into park. The guy comes over and tells me I scored a 96. He deducted 4 points because I didnā€™t put on my blinker when I backed up. Fair enough, I said. He gave me the completed form and told me to go inside. I thanked him, put the car into reverse and proceeded to run over two cones. He yells at me, ā€œThatā€™s a 92!ā€ My friend and I burst into laughter and he joined along. That was funny shit.

I couldnā€™t get a video because I was driving but as I passed this building with the gold leafed dome I saw crows flocked around it circling. I thought maybe they were attracted to the shine.

Then I see that they were landing on the top, sliding down the side, flying off and circling back for more. Must be cool to be a bird! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

When I zoomed in I could see his snout very faintly.

Itā€™s all nuts. I received a new pair of hearing aids last week from the VA. Itā€™s my first time using aids. The audiologist wants to have a virtual meeting with me to walk me through using them. My appt is Feb 25ā€¦

Wish you the best of luck! You can take them out and say - sorry honey I didnā€™t hear you, I donā€™t have my aids in

Had cataract surgery on my eye yesterday. This morning I woke up to the best sight (out of one eye) that Iā€™ve had in decades. Its so good that I canā€™t wear the pirateā€™s eye patch I got a month ago just for this.
Getting the other eye done in two weeks. Canā€™t wait! Arrrrr!

Congratulations. I had the surgeries a year ago. Every day I improved a little more.

Medley demands at least 10 minutes of snuggle time every morning when I start work :heart_eyes_cat: . Afterwards she will find a place to bed down till lunch. If I deny her the 10 minutes lap time she will be the biggest pain in the ass and I wonā€™t be able to get any work done. Today she made me smile :slightly_smiling_face: .

The improvement in less than a day is just fantastic.
