Had a new heat pump installed yesterday. 15 year old unit died and began shorting the 24v transformer and frying it. I try to be DIY as much as possible, but once I traced the short into the heat pump, I didn’t want to go further. Also, I’m not licensed to possess or even purchase 410a so any further work was out of my DIY scope.
It’s nice to have the efficient heat again, and obviously very nice to have AC since we’ll soon be needing that. And a new, more efficient unit is smile worthy. But a big budget hit doesn’t necessarily turn that frown upside down.
Stupid thing roasted the transformer but did not blow the inline fuse that was supposed to protect the low voltage bits and bobs. Well designed… Any HVAC techs who may want to opine as to why that can happen are welcome to chime in.

Thank you. I ordered 1 of both the v2 and MR. only option they gave was fedex and since it’s on preorder until 3/1 I’m guessing they will ship using DHL lol. We shall see what happens.

Your going to love the V2, works great with either dual 3mm with the coils eight over the airflow or a single 4mm. The flavor is just outstanding, can’t wait for the mini and picked up one of the last Neo RDA’S
