I’ve read good things about the Daytons. The mono-subs actually don’t do bad once you get them dialed with the other speakers. They don’t thump like most others but they give me a decent response when needed. I have an old RCA 10" that needs a new amplifier plate. The woofer cone and cabinet are in excellent condition and I was looking at parts-express for a replacement amp-plate. I hate throwing things away that can be fixed.
I’ll get those pics of the DNA screen for you tonight.

i figure the Daytons and the Mono’s are basicly the same. and for what they are/cost, they are not bad, except that they don’t do subsonic. my subs, if i had it to do over i would have built REALLY powerfull ā€œwoofersā€ and not the "sub"woofers i have now. HT was once a hobby of mine, so i built my subs.
my 2 Daytons are for sale, though i have yet to put em up for sale.

i have 2 of these in 14cf ported @ 17hz tune.

After I received the Mono, I got an email alert from Slick Deals stating that the Klipsch 12" were on sale for $40/$50 more. The universe is out to mess with me.
I have the monstrous Infinity Reference 263 Center which produces an amazing amount of bass so the mono subs compliment fine enough for me. Would have loved to see that spun copper sub woofer sitting on the floor though.

lets see a pic of your setup.

LOL I have to do a lot of clutter cleanup before that’ll happen. I wish I had a dedicated theater room but it’s all in my living room and there’s crap everywhere. Meant to get it all straightened up but I blew out my back and now I have to be careful with how I bend over/reach/lift etc and just haven’t done it. Due to limited space, I have wall mounted Sony SS CS5 bookshelfs as my mains (awesome bang for the buck speakers. The highs are incredibly clear), KEF bookshelf surrounds, Infinity RC263 Center and the Mono subs. Powered by a Harmon Kardon AVR 1510. No audiofile setup by any means, but l’m happy with it. I’ve had to back out of scouring the web for HT equipment because that is a VERY expensive rabbit hole to fall into and there are other more importand things I need to be concerned with

if you are happy with it, that is all that matters. in that respect, its just like vaping.

what TV size do you have and seating distance ?

rabbit hole = yeah, you ain’t kid’n. if i had to replace the amp just for my front 3 speakers, it would be around $1000.

@Lostmarbles OMG. Can’t remember how long I’ve known you here, but did NOT know you were an audiophile/HT buff !!!

Did I hear you right, that you were adding (or using) a third sub ?? Nodal issues ? Phasing ??

Don’t laugh, but I’m still running old school Paradigm Studio References, along with an equally old school Reference 15" Servo sub. Using an (you guessed it) old school Onkyo 787 source with all onboard amps turned off, feeding an (yes, old school) Anthem MCA5 amp. Only issue was that I had to run a dedicated 20A circuit for the amp LOL.

The Reference’s continue to bring new meaning to Reference Level.

Let’s talk noise making !!!

Thank you @Ianc13 !
So far it’s been quiet…and I’m not complaining. My son is about to go to work and then I’ll have the house to myself and me and the dogs are gonna do some sock dancing in the kitchen while I eat chocolate cake

Outdated or lot, you got me beat. I don’t consider myself an audiophile, but I do like nice crisp sound. I’ve been getting my LP vinyl collection back slowly but surely. If I should ever get my dedicated theater room, then I’ll go balls-to-the-wall with stuff, but for now, I just have a modest little setup. I only have the two subs in the living room. The third is in the bedroom in case I want to fall asleep in front of the TV and not get couch-kink. That setup is an old Denon AVC2000 (no hdmi ports) but it refuses to die. I’m sure if I had all three subs on one system, I’d run into problems, but I’m not getting any with the two. After I got the sub yesterday, I tested it out by playing Rush’s Limelight and maxed it out. I never took it that high. There was all kinds of shit flying off the fireplace mantle. It was glorious!

OK, first things first …

#RESPECT

I’m glad you cleared up the sub thing, as I thought you had all THREE in one room !!!

Dunno @Lostmarbles, my 787 doesn’t even have any HDMI inputs !!! It does have fiber though.

Hehe Mike as you know what, we DO have more in common. I did the SAME thing !!!

Actually that’s a plus for the amp with no HDMI. Most amps are all HDMI and they won’t play your turntable without a separate preamp.

I have an Audio Technica Turntable with a switchable preamp so that’s not a problem, but I get what you mean. I hope more amps come with phono inputs as in general it’s a cleaner sound than a built in preamp on the deck.

That right there is freakin gorgeous!

The DNA display is on the left. It’s a little wider than the orig. screen

The holder is upside down inthis pic, but you can see on the right side where the box cutter ran away from me a bit (and drew blood)

Here it is with the display screen in place. I’ll put double sided tape under the screen to help hold it in place.

I may try to smooth it out a little bit more, but I’m a little leery about working with it anymore because the plastic is really flimsy and too much pressure may crack it apart. When I do the second Grus, I may look at doing it with something other than a box cutter. Maybe using the Dremel? I don’t know yet. Maybe I’ll do a step by step tutorial if anyone is interested.
