I’m going to get a doberman in a few months, so I’ve been watching tons of videos about them. I had a thought today that made me laugh because it’ll be great once I do it. I’m going to get a custom made German WWII infantry helmet with holes for the ears to poke through. Then I’ll put the dog in the car with the windows down and go drive through the sections of Atlanta where all the progressives live. That should set off some triggers.!
Imagine this fine fellow with one of those helmets!

That definitely is more stylish and dignified. But my goal is to combine people’s common fear of dobermans with their aversion to anything Nazi even if they truly know shit about it. I’m looking to just piss off certain people.
Biggest gun show in Georgia this weekend. I think I’ll go and browse the selections. Might need it after my dog scheme is in place.

And congrats on getting your Dobie soon. I had friends who were Doberman owners. They had 2 females, Velvet (black) and Punkin (rust). Punkin cause she was a punk and kept biting the neighbor’s ankles 
. Velvet was a retired dam who was unusually large for a female and was bred till the poor gal nearly dropped. My friends rescued her. She was the sweetest dog.

They truly have great personalities. Many years ago, I shared a house with a few people for a year. It was in Lakeville right on Long Pond. One of the guys had a doberman and I loved that dog. I took him running with me through the woods all the time. I spent more time with that dog than the owner and he grew to love me. However, he had no illusions as to who his Alpha was, they’re very smart and loyal.
Know what the difference between a dog and a wife is? I can put my dog in my car trunk for six hours. When I let her out, she’s happy to see me.

Glad you are getting a pooch. I may have posted this before, but I think dogs are the best. They don’t care what you look like. They don’t care what you do for a living. They don’t care how much money you make. You feed them, show them love, and you get unconditional love in return. The best deal in town.
Years ago I had a half dobie, half German Shepard mix. He was a great dog. His previous owners had not socialized him nor was he ever allowed in in their house, so it took some extra care and love to get him comfortable with other folks (he was overly protective) and with being in the house. He didn’t know how large he was and in his early days with me kept knocking things off coffee and side tables with his tail. Leo was 110 pounds of fur, energy and love (he was a big boy). I smile with good memories with him.

I know America failed to introduce the metric system, and right you are! See what happens when the bad EU forces the poor brits to use some system one could understand without having to grow up with it! Once imperial is in your bran, which can easily be done in 20 years or even less it makes total sense. Who needs metrc, eh? And they can have the crown stamp back on their pint glases! Centuries a sign for freedom and errrrr… well freedom should be good enough. And blue passports!
But at the petrol station they sell the good stuff by the liter so you can’t see that a gallon would cost you an arm and a leg.
Seriously, the thought of going back to the “old europe” is becoming a real option again.

Well, it looks as if they’re setting sail!
The little shenanigans between the brits and the french were always nice to watch. But now it’s more like a general dislike of the EU. The Germans are just waiting for the right time for the final blow (not selling mercs and beamers to them anymore so they can drive minis again… oh hold on, thy’re German now, too)
