WHAT Has Made You Smile Today? (II)

Binky? That’s what my mother called a pacifier when I was a child. My binky looked nothing like that!

I got a new kitten, as yet unnamed.

My 5-year cat’s reaction to the interloper:

Talyn is not amused by the kitten’s hijinks.

Edit: I should add, the kitten is male, and I’m open to suggestions for a name. I was wanting a sci-fi reference. I was hoping to find a name that would refer to his “gingerness,” but I can only think of one male character that has red hair and I’m not thrilled w/ his name. :frowning:

Binky is what Death called
his horse, so fit as a cute name in my generally harsh existence.

A Piers Anthony fan, perchance?

Terry Pratchett. One of the few I allow to make an observation around me.

omg, I’m thinking of the wrong book! I looked up on my bookshelf, and instead of falling on my Discworld books, I looked at the P. Anthony series.

I used to have a cat named Greebo. And boy, except for the fathering a multitude of cats, he lived up to his namesake.

Oh dear, then I assume the monkey in your library is being cheeky.

Small Gods and Reaper Man is the best summary of me: My fairness is measured by insane rules but still focusing on helping all.

I was just running them through my mind, trying to pick a favorite, but failed. Although, being a cat person, I wasn’t thrilled w/ the death of rats choosing a cat as its steed. :frowning:

While there’s nothing particularly original about Men at Arms, I liked that the Patrician is human after all, so maybe that’s my favorite.

Did you like Prime’s adaptation of Pratchett’s/Gaiman’s Good Omens?

Kittens are sooo much fun. I had one that must have been on speed. He was never still. Used to wail on my adult Malamute and that dog would run and hide. They were bed buddies at sleepy time though.
The only cat/sci-fi name that comes to mind at the moment is “Jonesy”. Far too common, I know.

Great job SD. My how times have changed from 2015.

I thought you’d opt for Death having cats as friendly companions. - Only wizards and cats can see Death when not at work.

Oh Good Omens was ok to start and a bit strained after 10 minutes. It focused too much on being accessible to all.

I agree @Lostmarbles.

Hehe, thank you @rcleven. Thank God, we left “Panty Dropper” back in 2015, right ??

Or DID we /// …

I don’t mean to drop a “Hot Load” on the guy, and he DID give some good info to newer mixers, BUT, he says don’t mind his flavor bottles discolorations, as they were being kept with OTHER flavors ??

Hehe, because I keep ALL my flavors together, and my bottles don’t look like his bottles !!!

Well I am a huge cat lover myself. I miss my Bengal cross daily. He was a perfect hunter and loved having all the fields to stalk in. Sadly a neighbour poisoned him a few years ago.

I’m NOT going to respond to this, but, Karma has a “way” of “happening” sometimes @SquirrelSmash, even IF, it needs to be nudged.

It’s ok - He had a good life massacring all. Sadly I was out of the country when he died. But the toxicology report on him was damning.

@SquirrelSmash I forgot exactly where you are located, BUT, do people sometimes “Disappear-afy” over there ?

How about planting yourself a nice, new garden, to help take your mind off things ?

Hahaha. I do that a lot. The cat has a bench and bird feeder over his body: I thought that would be a fun spectral hunting ground.
