Thank you! I swear his freckles are growing in by the day. He only had black freckles when we got him a week ago, and throughout the week, he has “caramel “ ones on his legs now! He’s already 27 lbs (roughly). I held him while on our bathroom scale.

Thanks Session, he’s definitely keeping me busy which is a good thing. I was way too much in my brain these last couple months.

They always are good. I take the girl into Farm & Fleet all the time.

I’d kill to have a local Fleet & Farm out on the right coast.

Actually they are two different stores that serve the same purpose. It’s confusing as heck that the names are similar. I have 4 Farm & Fleet stores within a 15 mile radius. I know Farm & Fleet is dog friendly. Employee’s give her dog biscuits at checkout and she insists to go into the store when ever we go.

She sure is!!! Kind of creepy too. If you look at the pictures above she is always looking at me. If I put my shoes on she runs to the door looking to go on a walk. It starts about 7:00 AM and stop’s at dark.

@rcleven I actually order my pellets soley from Blain’s F and F, and didn’t understand the two different names. Looked it up, and read all about the history. From what I could gather, Fleet and Farm is more of a corporatized operation, while Blain’s Fleet and Farm is more of a family run operation ?

I’ve been ordering my pellets from Walmart. Been buying 40 lbs of a hickory blend by PitBoss. About the same price as a 20 lb bag of the blend at Blains .
Blains is a family run store. Everything from soup to nuts. Everything West of me is still rural enough to support a farmers store. Never been in a Fleet and farm but there is one about 35 miles South West. Not worth the drive unless I’m really bored.

@rcleven I’ve never tried PitBoss, so I can’t speak to them, but I HAVE tried a LOT of other pellets, and most were just garbage. As I tried more, and more brands with the same results, I started to research around. Seems like a LOT of pellet MFG’s use sawdust, old furniture wood, and even worse. Traeger, my chosen brand for Smokers, even holds a patent for “Flavored” Pellets. YES, Traeger appears to use crap wood, then “Flavor” it with “Wood Oil”. You can’t make this up.

Maybe if the sawdust, furniture, and wood oil isn’t enough, how about Grape Vines ?? !!! Yes.

Needless to say, I kept the Smoker, and trashed the pellets. Finally talked to some guys in the BBQ circuit, and all they use/used were Lumberjack pellets. Never heard of them, but …

They use the ENTIRE tree/species in the pellets. Clean, untreated, REAL wood. ROTFL, they don’t need to use wood oil flavoring. Hands down the BEST pellets I have ever tried, and I will never switch.

BBQ Wood Pellets for Grilling – Why We’re Better – Lumber Jack Grilling Pellets

They’re SOO good, that I bulk order them, and ship them almost cross country, from Blain’s.

Lumber Jack pellets are good pellets don’t get me wrong . Their made by the largest maker of pellets in the US. They were bought out a year or two ago. Blaine 's was clearing Lumber Jack out buy one get the second one half price. 25% of the total purchase. On a 16 hour smoke I went through one and thrée quarters bags. More expensive than the upright smoker on chunk charcoal. Haven’t gotten the deep smoked flavor out of the pellets of any brand.

I actually cashed in on that BOGO. Considering I’ve trashed soo many brands in the can at this point, I don’t know if the burn rate was any faster or not, didn’t really notice in the Traeger. I only smoke at 225 though.

Most pellets I tried DID put a smoke ring, but you just couldn’t TASTE it. Maddening.

@SessionDrummer
This is the company that manufactures Lumberjack pellets.

Lumber Jack pellets were a brand produced by Great Lakes Renewable Energy. They made their pellets in South Hayward, WI . Similar to Bear Mountain, they were acquired by Lignetics at the end of March, 2021.Mar 2, 2022
